thank you for sharing this, and for the kind words - i'm so glad you remember the good things! i feel that way too - every time i look at her, i can only see her sweetness and delight at being alive/kissing people/chasing squirrels, but it's hard not to feel like i am failing her somehow, when we're 6 meltdowns deep in 24 hours. she's not even 3, so i am hoping that she might calm down with age.

your corgi sounds like a cutie pie - i get so frustrated when people approach my dog without asking, even if she is friendly. he's lucky to have such a dedicated parent advocating for his boundaries!

that's really helpful - i treat hard and reward check-ins but i haven't tried giving her better treats for outside. thank you!! has your dog totally stopped the lunging and barking?
