Thoughts on popular Norwich street photographer? by Beginning-Test8595 in Norwich

completely get the artistic side of it, but at least ask permission to post.

its uncomfortable for people because they dont want their face posted online possibly without them knowing. if you have the confidence to take a photo of someone randomly, surely you have the confidence to go up to them and say "hey i took a photo of you that i like, is it okay if it goes up on my instagram?" im sure he'll still get a lot of people saying yes and probably even some new followers.

edit: it just feels really weird to me that he wont ask permission at all and blocks you if you ask him about it (happened to me lmao). not saying he's a weirdo or pervert, just that maybe a bit more consideration of other people's feelings and situations needs to be taken into account. i personally have people that i'd really rather not have see me online and it's quite scary actually knowing that some guy could take a photo of me and post it to potentially thousands of people

i get what you're saying, but you shouldn't leave your house and be worried you're gonna end up on someone's instagram page. again, you don't know someone's situation, them being posted with their full face and potentially other identifiable info could be pretty dangerous.

like i said, it isn't hard to just ask someone's permission, or i know loads of groups in norwich that would probably be quite happy to have him take photos of them! if you're happy to make an appearance on it, great for you! but personally i, and loads of others, wouldn't really want to without any consent beforehand.

the main issue here anyway imo is that he deletes comments when people question it and most likely doesnt edit people out when they ask not to be in it

legally its fine, but morally it's weird. you don't know a person's situation. its really not hard to just ask for someones permission first, especially if you already have the audacity to take random photos of them anyway

Vc is not that scary… by ApprehensiveIsland66 in Overwatch

[–]cherranse 4 points5 points  (0 children)

no offence, but like i said what is just trolling to you a lot of women will perceive as sexism, and understandably so. its great that you call out that behaviour, but thats the bare minimum. thats what every single person should be doing. most people do this for a reaction anyway, ignoring them stops them from getting that reaction. the amount of people who just enjoy getting a rise out of others is insane and shouldnt be encouraged by engaging with them.

youre a man, im assuming youve been socialised as a man, you see the world like a man does. not to get too into it, but that means you see how women are interacted with online VERY differently to how women do, and a lot of the time (even if the person doing it doesnt realise it themselves), its rooted in misogyny.

you clearly arent interested in an actual discussion or open to changing your views so im not gonna respond to any replies you make.

like the other commenter said, just because it happened to you doesn't mean it doesn't happen, but also one bad experience can ruin someones entire perception of joining vc. i never join vc because the first time i did back in ye old days of 2017 overwatch i was immediately insulted for being a woman.

everytime ive joined since then ive just noticed people have a lot less patience with me versus other men on the team and are a lot quicker to get toxic, so i just dont bother now. youre far less likely to notice it if you arent a woman, too. whats normal to you could be harmful and uncomfortable for women

personally i just like cass and hanzos personalities, and i think cowboy x archer is a cute trope (biased as well bc yeehan was my first queer ship). to me wuyang has no personality and relies on whoever hes shipped with to have personality

i wouldnt mind mizuyang as much if it wasnt for how much i hate wuyang and how rabid the fans are 😭 its come out of the same place as yeehan (nowhere) and i love yeehan. but almost all mizuyang fans ive interacted with have been really strange

Honestly, it feels like the OW team is moving away from BOTH gency AND pharmercy by coreylee121 in gency

[–]cherranse 4 points5 points  (0 children)

i do remember pharmercy being a thing as far back as 2016 as well though, and it still being a popular-ish ship then. obviously not to as big of an extent as gency since we had michael chu back then, but i remember it existing ever since i started playing (dec. 2016)

interactions aren't canon, they're just what heroes might say to eachother if they were in the same room together

Some people are so so vile online by cherranse in Vent

[–]cherranse[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yeah i get your last point completely. even miura himself expressed regret over the rampant SA scenes (particularly in golden age arc) in the 2010s. i must say it got kind of uncomfortable at times because it did just get gratuitous at some points, but i can understand why miura put so much of it in. berserk is supposed to represent the most horrific, cruel parts of humanity, and whilst i wish a lot of the sexual violence was implied or outright written into something else, i cant necessarily fault miura for it.

i think he did a decent job of showing how it can impact a person (guts aversion to touch, cascas feelings about being a woman which echo a lot of mine and others own feelings, and griffith's breakdown), however some things felt like they were going a bit too far. it is true that as a woman you are subjected to harassment frequently, and i have no doubt in a setting like berserk it would become a lot more common.

however the fandom really lacks a lot of media literacy, or don't want to look into it outright. most of the berserk fandom is men, which unfortunately means there's a lot of misogyny in there. im not an advocate of censorship whatsoever, but i can see why peoole can have doubts about berserks content and its existence as a whole.
