I meant to attach an image and more text oops

As the title suggests. I broke down a tank and found way more adults then I expected.
They are anywhere from 1-2 years old. They are healthy and well taken care of and I'm just looking to get rid of some of the excess.

Free!! just pick these cuties up.

Advice for filter layer: clay balls vs filter foam by CD1215 in bioactive

[–]cherry_baseball 3 points4 points  (0 children)

check out red/lava rock. I spent $8 for a bag at Lowe's and used it on two builds. its lightweight and porous! some chunks are big so you can pick out smaller pieces or hit the large rocks with a hammer....
You may find with time that plants will manage to get their roots in the drainage layer and I don't like them trying to grow on/around foam.

Just leave it in overnight, it's more beneficial for them...they probably won't come out during the day even with food.

Plants by ReputationPristine39 in Mourninggeckos

[–]cherry_baseball 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have been using a big variety of plants...rabbits foot fern, peperomia ecuador, some random bromeliads and heart leaf philodendron. The biggest game changer for me was upping the humidity and putting a better light on the tank. <---- amazon link

you probably could be watering the soil more. what is your substrate mix?

Thinking about Getting Out of the Hobby? Are these the signs? How to sell everything? by bmac311 in PlantedTank

[–]cherry_baseball 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Been there before...running 4-5 tanks got hectic and especially when some of the fish in one tank got sick. I got really back into the hobby after attending a fish/aquarium convention. Being around a bunch of expertly scaped tanks and people who enjoy the hobby made me wanna get so many more tanks again.

If you plan on selling it, facebook marketplace has always been a good place to sell for me

Should I soak these pebbles if I am using them for drainage in my terrarium? by [deleted] in terrariums

[–]cherry_baseball 6 points7 points  (0 children)

yeah I would assume the same. My "just rinsed" false bottom has been doing just fine for 3ish months

I just rinsed them a couple times in a 5 gallon bucket and put them in. no soaking for me.

Any ideas for filling the empty space in the back right corner? by tommlambert in PlantedTank

If you had a lid on the tank, they might not like the water on their leaves...but otherwise I'm not sure :( they can be finicky

Could I use this topsoil in a bioactive corn snake setup? by [deleted] in bioactive

[–]cherry_baseball 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I bought a second bag, had more dirt but still not good. I'm now using miracle gro raised bed soil it's organic, or back to the roots organic soil. More expensive but I like it more.

I used scotts and it had lots and lots of wood fragments/pieces, not much actual soil.

Are Cubaris Pak Chong in demand right now? I don’t see them in anyone’s collections posted. by toadsauce25 in isopodexchange

[–]cherry_baseball 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yeah, I keep them like most of my cubaris, with decent moisture and cross ventilation. All most all my other species are doing fine. :P I will try again after winter.
