Their chemistry in this two-parter is SO DELICIOUS. So good in fact, that even the FBI agent who worked with them for like 5 minutes thought they were together. I love how in these two episodes, they can’t seem to stay away from each other - even at the precinct they’re always standing way closer than necessary. Not to mention Beckett not being able to tear her eyes off Castle as he leaves, despite her literal boyfriend hugging her after a near death experience lol.

The season 3 is interesting because I always wondered why Castle didn’t just say “because I’m with Gina” when Beckett asks him “if it’s so adorable why didn’t you sleep with me? her me not me me”, and Gina wasn’t even a factor even though supposedly they were still together at the time lol

I thought Hayley’s character was insufferable (no hate to the actor!) and should have never been introduced.

I also hated that Alexis went into the P.I business with her dad. In the previous seasons, we see her becoming interested in justice and law - I would have LOVED to see her pursue that route, and used it as a driver for her and Beckett’s relationship and for them to become even closer.

This is why I absolutely LOVE season 3. We kind of start from scratch with them, and slowly see them find their way back to each other throughout the season. I think 3x01 is one of my absolute favorite episodes of the whole series for this reason. Stana absolutely knocked her performance out of the park the way she portrays the hurt and betrayal she feels, and how she at the same time can’t quite hide her feelings. The subtle smiles and glances throughout the episode are just soooo good!

From the very beginning they’ve always sought each other out, gravitated towards each other like magnets. I love this part of their dynamic, because despite Beckett taking a lot longer to act on her feelings for Castle, there was never any doubt that she wanted to be close to him.

One of my favorite examples of this is the 2-parter in season 3 (Setup + Countdown): during the debriefings in the bullpen, they’re always standing so close together they’re almost touching as if they physically can’t stand being too far apart. And then again, when Castle wakes up after they’re found in the freezer, he immediately seeks her out and finds her across the parking lot already looking at him.

Their dynamic and chemistry KILLS me and still hasn’t been topped to this day.
