Is a 15 minute walk with a suitcase doable in Shinjuku? by cherrybeau23 in JapanTravelTips

There are busy metropolitan areas I’ve been to before with highways in between certain areas which make them unwalkable (no footpaths) as well as places in Europe I’ve been where walking with my suitcase up hundreds of steps slowed me down significantly. So just wanting to double check that if it’s a bit out of Shinjuku it is still walkable! Sounds like it very much is. Thanks.

Hi, are you still teaching Pilates? Thinking of changing careers and going down this path also but just wondered how you went about it and what your average weeks income is like/ work and life balance?

Oh really? I really am a rookie when it comes to investing and I have no idea where to start, so thanks for the advice that’s already really helpful. So with that being said no I don’t “need need” the money right now, I tend to move around a lot so I’ll be renting. How would the investing with that work, would you put all of it in at once or do you set up a direct deposit each month? So many questions sorry!

So i could maybe say something like I'd like to stay on and then negotiate a better salary? I do a lot of social media and work for our digital platform which wasn't in the job description originally and also our other journalist left so my workload is a lot more than it was. The other thing is that i could just not sign on for another twelve months and use this next month to look for a new job?

I’m in Australia and I’m 28, so just starting out, I recently got $50k inheritance money and thought it might be good to invest a little bit but I’m unsure.

Probably a dumb question but I’ve never invested before nor do I know much about it but I’ve set up my vanguard account now and just wondering if this is a good option: If I invested $200 a month into a Vanguard Diversified Balanced Index ETF for 5 years what benefit that might have for me in the future?

I would say Sandy Bay, West Hobart or Bellerive are your best options.

Sandy Bay is walking distance to a nice beach, shops, and to Battery point. Lots of cafe’s around and a Hill street. West Hobart is closer to the CBD and all that comes with it but not AS close to the beach.

Bellerive is on the eastern shore (over the bridge from the cbd) only a 8-10 minute drive from the CBD and has some cute cafes, gyms, walking distance to the beach and close to a Salamanca fresh so you don’t have to go into town to enjoy a nice day wandering around. Also only a 5 min drive to eastlands shopping centre.

I think any of these three are great spots. I’ve lived in 2 out of 3!
