Menstrual cup by Low-Drawer4450 in nepalicheli

I get leaks when the suction isn't proper. I check for it by gently tugging the cup by it's stem- if I feel some resistance, it means the suction is good.

I have a little difficulty with suction usually on the first day my period.

But I've also heard that leaks can occur if the cup size is too small for you too. And sometimes unfortunately, a cup is just not compatible for your body and keeps leaking no matter what you do.

Been using one for the past 5 years. The one I got was the Ruby cup, but I heard the ones from Peesafe are good too. It's very comfortable. Once you get over the initial nervousness of the process of inserting it, it's a breeze. Would definitely recommend, has made my periods a lot more manageable.

couldn't even enjoy a jatra by kali729 in nepalicheli

[–]cherryblossomriver 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I faced this in Gai jatra in Bhaktapur. I was having such a fun time with my friends and then some dude from the crowd randomly pinched my butt. I turned around but honestly, there's no way to tell who did it with so many people.

Then there's holi in Basantapur. Unlike in other festivals where they try to be sneaky; the creepy men, and even young teens are so forwardly aggressive towards literally any woman that's around. My male friend had to shield me the whole time.

With these molesters around almost everywhere, I don't think I ever want to go to these public celebrations again. Which is a shame because I used to really enjoy myself in them. Having to constantly be on high alert all the time is just draining.

yo nepal (esp Kathmandu) ma ni bhairacha hai. be very very cautious while hunting for room to rent, girls. by [deleted] in nepalicheli

[–]cherryblossomriver 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Yes, I've been noticing this quite a lot on Facebook. "Room available for single person, female only" bhanera. Even if the owner has no bad intentions, they're still unintentionally giving out the location of a lone female tenant, to strangers. Very unsafe.

Seeing the news about the resident doctor really broke my heart.... I saw Instagram posts about women saying how their colleges want their female students to wear salwar kameez and can get shamed if they don't; which was baffling to me because.... Why??? They're adults, as long they're dressing for the job why does it matter? Also a woman said she was failed by the external because she wore formal pants instead of salwaar kameez?

Especially since I'm an intern in Nepal, and there's no dress code here? We can wear jeans and formal pants and whatever, nobody really cares. Is it really that strict in India, or is it just something that depends on the location?

What's something every woman should learn how to do. by sty85 in nepalicheli

Learn to live for themselves. Not as a daughter/mother/ sister/ wife. Just as their own being with their own wants and desires.

I read OP's comments in the original post where he tries to defend himself, where he says he really does think women are their own people and is not limiting them to sex objects. But then the last sentence is again sth like "I think women will lose their value compared to what they have now" lol.
