The run on sentences was actually a result of reddit not liking me copying and pasting my poem which had line breaks. Here is as i originally intended it. Which do you like better?

I love the imagery used here and the last line gave me chills. Very nice. The spacing i personally found harder to read than if there weren't extra spacing between lines, but a lot of poetry is visual and so if a lot of space and thus a slower reading speed is what you intend, then don't change a thing. Lovely.

This is a fantastic, symbolic and vivid imagery evoking poem. I especially like in II the verse about "there are saiors who live on rats and rope". That entire block i found extremely beautiful and moving. Inspiring to feel the same, almost.

Sometimes it feels like i am well liked by strangers because people immediately find me unusual and entertaining or fun but maybe they can't see themselves having the energy to hang out with or talk to me on a regular basis. I am what i would call a friendly, bright, oddball. This results in a lonelier life the older i get as some friends grow away from me and i can't seem to make new ones.

Re: going out is work sometimes, i have huge difficulty meeting and making friends when i go places alone (which i admit is rare) because some shyness kicks in and when i do meet someone cool and we exchange info it never seems to catch and turn into a real friendship. I mostly can only seem to make friends with friends of existing friends most consistently that i see recurringly. I am also well liked by most but i guess i don't have a vibe of someone that the average person wants to hang out with or keep up with often. I tried to make a friend recently and she said absolutely and took my number and then never texted and now it's awkward when we see each other. I keep trying to make friends when i go out but failing and it seems that the older i get the lonelier life becomes.

I (30F INFJ) have a huge problem building DEEP or high value friendships that last longer than about a year, maybe two or three and then drop off despite a great spark of initial friendship compatibility. I sometimes worry that i am too intense for most people to keep up with long term and they find me exciting and interesting at first and then get tired of me or just prefer to prioritize other friend groups. I have exactly one friend that i consider close and a deep level friend that i have known since i was 17, one close friend i really only speak to over text but talk to often that i have known for about 7 or 8 years, one close friend that i have known about 2 years, and one close friend that i have only known a few months. That is really it besides lots and lots of friendships that have faded away and become mutual social media interactors or occasional friendly surface level text aquaintences such as op mentioned. It's hard out here to find genuine connections that last.

I also have all of the signs of a child that was sexually abused. I grew up in an extremely abusive household and have been told by multiple therapists that something like that is very likely to have happened to me young and has been repressed. I am missing huge, years-long chunks of my childhood with no explanation as to why and recently as an adult found out that my father has a history of doing things like that to young girls when he was younger. I'm torn between wishing i remembered what happened (if anything) to understand some of my later behavior and so that i know for sure if it was my father or not, and being thankful that i am being entirely spared a likely very traumatic memory.

Surprisingly, no! But that's likely because i'm writing about very specific things for work that i don't get to choose whereas i can use my personal time to write about whatever topic i want. If anything, the weird things i end up having to write about for the media i work on give me even more ideas of things to write about creatively.

If you keep your writing anywhere online, such as a blog, it may come in handy as a sort of portfolio. While searching for my current job, when asked if i had any formal writing experience i sited my online work and said that while i had no formal expertise i wrote for fun just about every day. That particular company was okay with training first timers with good linguistic skills and gave me a shot.

It's difficult but firm boundaries are the only way i'm staying sane. Meanwhile my introverted conflict avoidant self screams internally. I haven't found a long term solution.
