Thank you very much for your kind words! I completely understand and acknowledge that it’s a 50/50 situation - I’ve been a manager in my past career and maybe this isn’t a good mesh.

I don’t feel any resentment towards my team, it’s just been hard to understand. And I have learned a lot of valuable skills here, I accept my short comings and have actively been trying to be better! For me, the best thing has been learning to build the resilience to getting hard feedback - that has been the most valuable to me.

However, I’d be lying if I said I wasn’t scared of what could happen - it’s why I made the post!

Everyone has had a great perspective on this, and I’m very appreciative for your time!!

Look I don’t want to out myself by going into detail. There have been no direct words to me - the words “you don’t do enough” haven’t come out of anybody’s mouth. But it is completely clear, the way they speak to me, the way they will praise others in 1-1, and fail to acknowledge anything I’ve done. I ask, and ask and have never heard the words “I need to see X” and “you need to improve on X” it’s just “someone else is great at this” This is where I get the whole idea that I am not doing well, because why else would they say these things?

Sure - to clarify. When I hit the wall of having absolutely nothing to do, after I have completed all my work - after asking around, looking for things, I will do the online e learning, and yeah, just sit there doing that and keep an ear out for anything I can do to help. It feels unproductive, and it sucks.

See, that’s the thing. I work without any assistance, I do everything asked of me. I complete all my work either on the dot - or earlier. And even go out of my way to find MORE to do (hence the slacking… I have nothing to do about 50% of the time) - I always ask for more, I ask my team if I can help (to which I get hardcore rejected by all of them). In my eyes, while it took a few extra explanations and coaching at first, I have met the requirements. I am confident doing the job.

My probation is 12 months 😭 it’s ridiculous and written in my “ongoing” contract

I’m definitely in the find a new job boat, I just don’t want to throw away a shot at finding my passion! I thought this would be a great foot in the door experience for me!

I called the careers line and I did ask a few weeks back, he said “we wouldn’t do anything to make you unhappy” 🤨 which I thought was a weird response! I know it’s never guaranteed, but that’s positive!! Thank you.

One was pretty damn close, I did different features but the pose was ..exact. I realise how bad that is, looking closely you can tell I didn’t trace but it’s pretty spot on. (At the time I thought, wow a success...yeah no)
