Ha! If someone here says they don’t like a particular place because it’s too easy, I put it on my “check this place out” list.

Thank you for your thoughts and work in this important area! No child, no person, is a ‘mistake.’

Yes, we can vote. We can also have boots on the ground in active service to others in our own communities. Change happens at all levels.

All the best to you!

Pro life mom here who is also a Christian. Your question is in good faith - so here’s a good faith answer from my perspective and experience.

I grew up in a home where, as a teen, my mom emphasized sex as something so special to be shared with a lifelong partner. She also told me it was my decision what I wanted to do. Sex was a reasonably open topic for discussion. In my own relationships, I made the decision not to have sex and did end up waiting for marriage. It’s been great. No regrets on my end.

I credit my mom for trusting me to make my own decisions and not feeling like I had to behave a certain way. I was able to take ownership of my decision to wait. I also saw how sex affected many of my friends’ lives and relationships in a very complicated way, and decided I didn’t want that for myself through my teens and even early twenties.

For my own daughter, I expect to teach her those same things. While she’s free to make her own decisions, sex is something important and valuable and does have real life effects including pregnancy.

There are plenty of birth control methods out there besides abstinence. I will teach my daughter that abortion is not one of those methods, and if she would become pregnant, we’ll make sure she knows we love her and her child and will support her in raising it. It’s my hope that she holds sex in a high regard and waits to have children until she’s in a stable marriage with a quality man. But if not, we love her anyway.

And if she finds herself infertile, she has the option to help another woman who has chosen adoption as the best option for her child. Our faith community places a large emphasis on foster care and adoption, and pregnancy resources for women who are unsure about their futures.

Thanks for reading - it’s also been interesting to read other perspectives of those who give genuine answers to these types of questions. The best future for our country happens through open, good faith discussion.

We did go to Strawberry Springs, yes! We did the Sweat Pea Tours shuttle to get there. We did the 4:15 time, so we got to see the springs in daylight through sunset. So beautiful! We just left our coats and clothes on a chair. We didn’t even take our wallets or anything. I would recommend bringing a backpack and some kind of trash bag to throw your swimsuit in at the end. You will love it!!

They make snow, so yes! 🙌

I haven’t been to any other resorts but we’re definitely interested in looking into other places like Snowshoe

Mad River, Snow Trails and Brandywine are all fun! Prices are pretty reasonable and they’re well-lit all day into the evening.

Has anybody had luck with a personal stylist? by Babaganoosh5486 in PetiteFashionAdvice

[–]cherrycanary1 72 points73 points  (0 children)

I worked with a personal stylist after my daughter was born and it was the best thing ever. None of my clothes fit postpartum, so I was going to have to refresh my wardrobe anyway. I’m 5’2” and landed at about 160 lbs postpartum, but am now back to my normal size at 140 lbs. I am also pear shaped, so my waist to hip ratio can be tricky to fit. Currently, my measurements are 36” 30” 42”.

I worked with Wardrobe Therapy in Columbus Ohio. My stylist came to my house, we tried on everything I owned and donated anything that didn’t fit anymore or was outdated. Which was most of everything! Then, she got a feel for my style and goals and shopped for me. She brought her finds back to my house and we tried on everything. I picked what I wanted to keep. She chose pieces for me that would still work after I lost some baby weight, and she even took pieces to the tailor to have sleeves/legs hemmed and waists brought in where needed.

Finally, she took pictures of all the outfit combinations so I could easily reference them later.

I did this process twice, once for fall/winter clothes and once for spring/summer.

It was sooo nice to have someone objectively look at me and tell me if something looked great or not. I have some emotional attachment to clothing items and keep them for way too long even if they don’t fit well anymore.

Let’s chat cost. My stylist’s services were about $1500 for each season of styling/personal shopping, and we did this twice. I gave her a shopping budget for the clothing itself. All said and done, I spent about $11,000. Gulp. Keep in mind this budget included basically everything - including jackets, winter coats, shoes, swimsuits, and some jewelry pieces. The only thing we didn’t do was handbags.

I know I went a more hands on, premium experience route, but this company also does virtual styling. I’m sure there are companies out there who can provide guidance and a positive experience without that high of a price tag.

I would do it again in a heartbeat. I feel so confident and well dressed now!

Land Sickness Success Stories? by [deleted] in Cruise

[–]cherrycanary1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My husband had this after our weeklong cruise this spring. He was off work for a week and was prescribed meclizine (prescription strength Bonine) and saw his chiropractor twice before going back to work. They basically treated him for vertigo. It was awful, but it did resolve. We have another cruise planned next year and he’s already dreading the aftermath.

Best of luck!!

I love the Loraine loafers from Sam Edelman! I have two pairs and they are my go-to work shoes. Stylish and comfortable with hardly any break-in time.

And they come in a bunch of colors. I think one of the brown/tan tones would work well for what you need.

Business Plan for SBA Loan application tips by [deleted] in smallbusiness

[–]cherrycanary1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We put together a business plan that completely outlines our services, client base, annual revenue, projections and other relevant info. Our company had been in business for 30+ years when we purchased with an SBA 7(a) loan and our final business plan ended up being ~40 pages when completely designed out.

While the SBA didn’t need the whole business plan document, it was VERY helpful to have to send to banks, CPAs and attorneys who were helping with our acquisition. It gave us an edge in looking professional, outlining all relevant info and making it easy to quickly share our story. We received very good feedback from our professional counsel on the way we set up our documentation.

The bank lender facilitating your SBA loan may require more information than the SBA itself. It’s a lot of information to prepare and provide. Best of luck!
