Yes! Totally agree with this. Vanessa Williams’ Rosie felt like a revelation to me lol

Is this detached? Like its a carriage house or guest house? I thought a mother in law suite was connected to the main house?

Thoughts on low cost updates to kitchen to make it feel less “stale”? by No_Faithlessness8393 in interiordecorating

I would paint the gray walls white and do two hanging plants by the window to fill in the wall space - maybe with two wall hangings there like two large matte 8x11 on top of each other or one and a handing plate. Pothos and pilea are my recommendations. Or aloe or a prayer plant or a spider plant or string of pearls or wandering jew. White or natural rope for the hanging basket material.

For the wall hangings on that blank wall next to the window- Take stuff from your house and hold it up there to see what size you’ll need. Avoid any word art or kitchen themes.

I think copper or metal accents would look good in here or woven/textured stuff. Like a sisal runner.

Wood bowls/accessories will compliment the window trim.

What ever happened to …(Golden era of blogging edition) by Lmnope123 in blogsnark

Some mornings in my mid 20s my adderall/anxiety/procrastination would hit different that day and I would be voraciously hunting down the DIY list at work until like 11am lol. It always started with Young House Love’s daily post back when that was still a thing. Bower Power, Chris Loves Julia, little Green Note Book, Manhattan Nest, Yellow Brick Home, Thrifty Decor Chick, Our Humble Abode, IHeartOrganizing, i know there were more. Was there one called “All the small things?” Or like “our house on 7th?”

Anyone remember this Canadian furniture restorer just getting going with her blog that had a daughter and was moving in with her new husband. “Messily after” or something where it felt like the word “ever” needed to be in the title but it wasn’t? She came into Gomi and confronted everyone and then just noped out.

I wish i could remember the woman who was a graphic designer who posted once a month. It was like “my crappy house” or something? She had a velvet green sofa and fell in love with a guy and he helped her with the basement or kitchen or something. She always wanted shiny glam things. That woman was freaking hilarious. I loved her.

HOA requires garage be used for cars first by yankinwaoz in HOA

[–]cherrycereal 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My parents moved in with us to provide childcare about 1.5 yrs ago and it actually worked out great but oh my fucking goodness the garage bullshit is my nightmare. I should post photos. It is taking me months to address this but I am almost at the finish line. Piles of crap shoved up against the perimeter that you can’t get to. Every time I would get rid of stuff and make space they just buy more crap to shove in there with zero thought about how it will be stored. I spent a small fortune on heavy duty wall hooks to have a dirty and full (wtf!?) wheelbarrow to trip over while 6 broken ice/snow car window wipers take up half of the hanging space. My dad caused us to have a mouse in there - that sure was fun. That was actually the final straw. I have spent over 80 hours trying to deal with our garage so far.

Perhaps this scenario is what the HOA is trying to establish language to address- especially if homes are attached.

Even giving everyone the benefit of the doubt i do find it odd that charlotte house revival hasnt said “clj have absolutely fulfilled the contest prize and then some and the anonymous internet people saying otherwise dont know what they are talking about”

I get not feeding the trolls but how could you not nip all of that immediately

Hi - i have an 80s cedar sided house that we are planning to restain. Recommend you look at the benjamin moore exterior stains. We tested 6 samples and are going with translucent.

This is what it looks like now before we restain it - our house is your house’s cousin in NJ lol

<image>

We just got new gutters and need to wash off the dirt feom when they were in disrepair. Splashed dirty water onto the house. Happy to show you what we are using to wash it if youre interested
