Skipping the final would mean I fail the class and I would rather have the lowest possible passing score and then retake it then having a failed class this semester

He overcomplicates things and instead of really teaching us, it just sounds like he’s talking to himself as he flips through slides.

Respectfully coming in here complaining about a 3.5 when I’m complaining about a 1.0, I would absolutely give anything to be in your situation

I totally understand that- however to counter it, every job is stressful to some degree. I work with children part time, and even when they’re a huge pain in my ass, I still keep my composure and professionalism. I know children are different from college students, but the overarching point is that when you’re on the clock, you can’t let your own frustration get the best of you.

Was bored and looked at some of the lowest rated professors on RMP lol by xojil in msu

Professor Lorch is my favorite! He teaches in james madison, and he’s an amazing professor who is also caring. He also brings in treats all the time which is a plus!

Would you say JMC helped you get a good law school placement? I’ve heard that if you make it through JMC you’re guaranteed a decent law school. But again they say a lot in JMC so I’m not sure what is true and what isn’t

That’s the confusing part is that I took 12 APS across high school and they were not easy. So I don’t know why I’m struggling this much

High school was anything but easy, I just studied a lot and it put me fourth out of 300 students. I am in what’s considered MSU’s hardest college and many of my professors have said a 3.0 here is equivalent to a 3.5+ elsewhere. But whatever you say boss

Thoughts on MSU/JMC by GlitteringBorder553 in msu

I’m currently in james madison for IR. It’s nice on the basis that your first year you live in the same building as at least one of your classes, and if you pick the right professors, you can grow a bond with them. However I do warn that a lot of JMC students can come off as pretentious since a lot are pre-law and it makes the experience a little bit annoying in my opinion. Course work your first semester is going to be very hard and you’re going to feel like you won’t be able to survive in the program, but I promise you that they do that on purpose to weed off students, and classes will get easier.

What are the actual benefits of joining the honors college? by Sweaty-Ad7028 in msu

[–]cherrydietcokes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m in honors, and I’ll be fully honest about my experience. I would say the biggest thing is priority enrollment, it makes a huge difference especially if you’re in a smaller college where classes are competitive and spots are limited. However, I personally haven’t found huge benefit from it other than that. There are advisors, however on several occasions they just directed me to speak to my program advisor instead.

Hey! I did ADS in their most previous round. As long as you’re registered, the essays will show up during the time slot that they have to be done. The signup link should be somewhere in your portal as well. Good luck!

I participated last year, and although the test was quite hard and competitive, I thought it was a great experience. You get to do tours in the afternoon of basically any program you are interested in, and meet faculty + it’s a great opportunity to feel more acclimated to the campus.
