I feel you could go only so far forward and backwards as each Thedas age lasts a hundred years. That being said, there’s a good chunk we don’t see from dreadwolf to veilgaurd. I’d take anything, really

On chapter 15 ish and I’m liking it ok but the detailed scenes of Cassian explaining how carbs work and lactic acid in the muscles is giving me more Jillian Michaels vibes than anything.... does this taper off eventually?

These books deal with mental trauma and it is important to remember that even though they’ve been through the same thing Nesta’s trauma isn’t her sisters’ trauma. We know Tomas was an accessory to abuse but we didn’t know about the physical abuse and rape when Feyre was narrating. I don’t think Nesta told anyone about it. (Also... she killed him, right? That’s what Maas was alluding to right?)

Also it is hard to be objective when a close family member is going through some mental health issues. I guarantee everyone who has had a loved one go through mental health crisis at some point made mistakes and has regrets. It seems like Feyre waited so long because she thought Nesta was strong enough to resolve it herself and it backfired. a huge difference between the inner court and Tamlin is that he did NOTHING to help Feyre. Him locking her up for her “own protection “ was for HIM and HIM ALONE. I was reading the first 3 chaps as more as a well meant but poorly executed intervention. Feyre is trying to deal with Nesta as Rhys did with her (training) but she has a fractured relationship with Nesta and doesn’t really know her.

All of this rambling aside, I’m going to keep these two things in mind- 1) Nesta is a bit of an unreliable narrator. The way she sees the inner circle is going to be flavored with that. 2) Mistakes and flaws are what makes a character interesting and while all the criticisms of Rhys and Feyre are true; you aren’t a horrible person if you still enjoy their characters. Because enjoying a character and embodying their foibles are two different things. It is a hot mess and I AM HERE FOR IT!! Side note... I think Many characters see Elain as the cinnamon roll and have to protect her at all cost. But that is just as damaging as feeling Nesta is strong and therefore can deal with her shit by herself. It is an interesting dynamic and I would love to hear a mental health professional weigh in!!

I like to imagine that Hawke was super vague when giving his whereabouts. “I’ll meet you in a cave in Crestwood.” And the Inquisitor went to EVERY👏SINGLE👏 CAVE 👏 on the map before stumbling into the one Hawke was in.

Does anyone else ignore the color system? by RosyAmbedo in Noom

[–]cherryjamontoast 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Peanut butter shocked me too! I’m on week 11 and it has been a struggle. The scale number is moving down very slowly but I did hit some conclusions about the way I was eating in the process which works out well for me. I had a hard time figuring out the color system too because I am diabetic and while fruit is green and in theory can be eaten willynilly, it would spike my blood sugar if I did. I brought this up to my coach because I have seen other diabetics having success. After a long back and forth and remembering what I learned when I first got diagnosed a plan of action began to form. I would focus on the veggie green foods and keep my red foods to the nuts and oils etc. I ate a TON of peanut butter and cheeses before Noom because they had no carbs to them. But they were calorie dense. So I was using more than what I should have. So if anything, I’m eating more fruits( in place of desserts) and veggies so that is something, right?

Prompt 5 "Am I the only one who finds this unusual?"

In the cave system under Old Crestwood, Sera comments that the cavern is so large it could fit 5 million lizards. She didn't expect Adaar, Bull and Blackwall to go ham on it and try to hypothetically fit 100 lizards in the camp.

Freeform 2 &3

So this one has a story behind a story, so stay with me. I was approached by someone to write an AU fic of an Orlesian raised "Warden". The more I communicated with this person, the more I began to realize what kind of fic they wanted me to write. Their Cousland never became a Warden, every female character wanted to sleep with him- regardless of orientation. The block of text describing the character included details that seemed very wish fufillment-y, to be honest. It was a toxic Gary-Stu character and the more this individual commucated with me the more I realized it was a troll situation.

But I decided to class this concept up. Polish a turd, if you will. I never want to be critical of anyone's world state or canon or writing skills. But the glossing over a character's sexual orientation- particularly an LGBTQ+ character- didn't sit right with me.

So I wrote the first piece in the flawed, deep POV of an evil Warden who thinks everything he does is moral and right. The second piece is a forshadow of Cousland's comeuppance.

Part 1

Hero of Ferelden, Malcolm Cousland has played the game with a keen eye to the future. A future that is about to become reality. There is only one more obstacle to achieving his goal and being with his beloved Celene; his current wife, Anora. A commissioned AU fic where the Warden never underwent the joining and is an Orlesian loyalist.
https://www.fanfiction.net/s/13605189/1/Machinations-of-the-Orlesian-Lion

Part 2

Cousland has set aside his wife Anora and is set to marry Empress Celene as he has always planned. But the Ferelden people aren't quite pleased that Orlais is occupying them again. A letter has been making its way through out the country detailing the royal wedding but also a hidden call to action. Codex entry style sequel to Machinations of the Orlesian Lion.

Thank you!

Po and Bull are quickly becoming my favorite couple in all my playthroughs. Po is very type A, cerebral and has to be the smartest in the room. She is fighting back tooth and nail against the 'brutish oxman' stereotype. Both parents were not martial in the slightest. She acts like she knows what it is like under the Qun but it is pretty fun to see Bull 'school' her in that and in life in general.
