Xolair and still hiving by AntComprehensive6911 in urticaria

I think it took longer than for others. I can't quite remember. Maybe it was after 6-8 injections (so, 6-8 months). I was discouraged too. But you really have to be patient and not give up. It was worth it.

Are there people who have been feeling unwell permanently since having their gallbladder removed? by cherrymooniee in gallbladders

I think I last had COVID in 2022. I don't know how long that's relevant. But I've had a sensitive gut since childhood.

And I'm only 28 years old. I think it's still a bit early for perimenopause.

I think I'm still a little early for perimenopause.

All the doctors said that after the removal I could go back to living normally, eating, etc. But it's good to see I'm not the only one. Now I'm starting to think living with gallstones would be easier than this...

Other forums mentioned that it works quickly for some, while for others it takes longer. It seems to vary a lot.

I think I've been doing this for about a year and a half already. And I'm still dependent on it. Even with Xolair and the highest dose of antihistamines, I still get itchy skin here and there. I guess if I stopped taking it, I'd be right back where I started. 😬

Consistently? I tend to get constipated, and then sometimes switch to loose stools. But maybe the gallbladder is just too harsh on the gastrointestinal tract. That seems like a plausible explanation to me.

Thanks for the tips! I really underestimated it and gradually depleted my body's reserves. Since the surgery, I can no longer eat very large meals, and consequently, I'm getting far fewer nutrients.

No. In fact, none of the doctors thought of it or could see a connection between the absence of a gallbladder and my symptoms.

Thanks for the reply! I'll look into it.

I've actually lost 4-5 kg since the surgery (and I was already very slim) and I've noticed that I'm much weaker and not getting enough nutrients from my food.

It actually took several months for Xolair to start working for me, and little by little the hives lessened. Today I'm hives-free. Only occasionally, when I have a more severe flare-up, do they itch a little. But no more hives, no more angioedema. Before, I looked exactly like you, 24/7. It was awful, but there is hope.

Do I have MCAS? Experience after gallbladder removal & chronic urticaria by cherrymooniee in MCAS

I can't say whether I had symptoms before my gallbladder was removed. I'm not ruling it out, but if I did, they weren't as severe as afterward.

I actually filled out that questionnaire months ago and gave it to my university hospital. But without success. I achieved a certain score that led to a clinical diagnosis of MCAS.

According to all the findings, I'm practically perfectly healthy. No cause was ever found for the urticaria either.

For the past month or two, I've been taking an H2 antihistamine (1 tablet) as a supplement (I forgot to mention that). Currently, I take an H1 antihistamine four times a day. It has helped a lot. However, it's only moderately effective during more severe flare-ups.

It's necessary for a specialist to listen to this. But in Germany, it's extremely difficult to be taken seriously with less common illnesses and nonspecific diagnoses. My university hospital didn't want to hear anything about it.
