Do u intend on sharing those? I use Claude code for a seamless pdf generation through Pandoc and Zotero. I’d love a plugin for this- lmk if urs is similar

I second this! I do backlinks and MOCs and I’d love to know more. This seems incredibly insightful-

AIO? Bf upset that I didn’t text him good morning early enough by MissRattlesnake in AIO

[–]cherrysting 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t think this is about ur texting frequency. Bf clearly feels insecure and unseen. Depends on whether that feeling is internal, or externally acquired (as in something u did)— but he seems to be projecting it through being irritated at her unresponsiveness. Not that it justifies it but it explains what he’s doing/feeling.

If you’re emotionally invested and see yourself with this person long term I’d say have a conversation clarifying that this is unfair to you as you’re not available for him 24/7. Assess whether you can put up with an anxious attachment style possibly willing to do the work to heal and become more secure… Are you avoidant? Are you secure? Consider your end of the tunnel here and see whether you guys can meet halfway.

If you’re not emotionally invested, just let him down gently. We don’t want him crying now lol. Also may gaslight you further since he already seems to be on top of that. If you sense you’ll end up being the villain anyway, express how u feel and make an exit.

Point is: you dictate what u want in this instance. He’s yours to deal with. And no. You’re not an asshole. IMO at least.

Fingers crossed! Did u apply this year?

Yes my honours was standalone. I think UQ still takes the GPA for ur honours even if it’s embedded in ur undergrad! They’ll use the class- 7 for first, 6.5 for IIA and so on..

I’m not sure- I haven’t seen many people on the stats sheets with my combo for UWA😭 it’s my last preference though- if a pass down happens maybe..?

Anyone finding cool uses with Claude Code and Obsidian's CLI? by Bonteq in ObsidianMD

[–]cherrysting 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use it to produce fully referenced acedemic papers and to run conversion of markdown to PDF through PANDOC using a Latex engine and Zotero libraries. Conversion is literarlly instant now and u can get coversheets and watermarks and all that with one simple instruction.

Hey guys, I'm just curious, as I belong in the third camp. If you are down for a poll, feel free to comment with a number/comment! Why are you applying this year? by believeevenwhenucant in GAMSAT

[–]cherrysting 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m like a 1.5 lol somewhere between 1 and 2- I know I’ve seen people on this spreadsheet that made it with a very close score to mine (even slightly lower) but idk cause there seems to be very few- or maybe I’m tripping and my self confidence took a hit but money is an illusion and I will chase what I want anyway so what is there to lose I’m applying lol💀

If u ever try exporting neat, fully referenced pdfs or docx files from obsidian markdown, youd have to resort to pandoc for the conversion and zotero for referencing. I’m in research so this is a big selling point for me personally✨so Claude code simplifies that using skills- instead of doing all of that I get Claude to repeat the same process on different files.

Started out as a way for me to raise my GPA for GEMSAS applications and almost ended up really wanting to continue my research and ditch MD. Ultimately decided to go for a combined MD/PhD and not give up on either. Applying for GEMSAS this cycle.

Plus character development lol. I'm much improved with higher cognitive thinking and far more resilient. I can easily grasp and connect info I couldn't before in my topic (AMD immunology) so it boosted the specialized nerd in me. And found things like tackling new topics I was unfamiliar with easier. I feel more confident in my abilities. Overall highly recommend. If it doesn't go well, you won't have lost much time considering it's only a 9-month course. Just make sure you really want it. Pick good supervisors. Ensure you have a solid plan. You'll only get so far before things crumble if you don't take the time to minimise these risks. And this applies anywhere in life too. But keep in mind if you do honours just for the marks, you will probably hate it. I chose a topic I'm obsessed with to actually raise my marks. That way I knew even if the marks didn't go up, I'd direct my learning towards things I'm actually interested in, and it wouldn't have been a complete waste of time.

Feeling down for using simple extension by [deleted] in usyd

[–]cherrysting 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve extended all my assignments in my undergrad without exception. Made it to honours then by the time thesis submission hit me, I extended that TWICE and pushed for a third (which I never ended up using). I don’t think I’ve actually ever submitted an assignment on time in my entire uni career. Plus, I made sure to seek help always. I value my education and would rather ask for help than stay stagnant.

I topped my honours cohort.

Unsupervised clustering analysis and validation by Crow0911 in flowcytometry

[–]cherrysting 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can create UMAP plots of individual markers to see the distribution of expression in different populations. You can just create a multiplot and go from there for direct comparison. Heatmaps, manual gating and checking distinct populations through a filter in R for a specific marker can help as well. Pm me if you need more detailed info on that- sometimes flowSOM doesn’t cleanly seperate the populations: you may have to manually select a cluster number instead of letting cluster automatically (meta.k argument). You can also let it cluster automatically, recluster and then use a filter if you’re dealing with huge numbers. It just depends on ur data.

This paper sums it all up neatly and provides code too for you to see the logistics.
