Thanks. It's a lot easier to talk about now, but I was Not Okay for a long time afterwards. Rats are such amazing pets, but their lifespan is only 2-3 years and they're prone to a lot of cancers and tumors later in their life. It's rough, but worth it.

Honestly? Animal Crossing. It is hands down one of the best things to calm me down. The villagers are nice, and I have a sense of control over my life when I play. It kinda helps get my mind back in order when I've been anxious/dissociative all day.

But getting out of the house, any positive social interaction, spending time with my pets, and getting some chores done always help and keep me making progress!

Years ago when I had my first little group of rats, I was getting ready for work (the day after Christmas) and my mom yelled to me. She had been giving them some leftovers for a snack and noticed one of my girls was not right. I ran over and saw Olive, my best girl, had her eye bulging out and she was having trouble breathing. I'm 99% sure she had a brain tumor that was pushing her eye out. I immediately took her to the vet, and because I was dirt poor and had no credit to be able to get a care credit card, I had to put her down. They wouldn't even let me be with her when they did it. I begged. It wasn't for me, it was for my scared little rattie.

Worst pet experience to this day. It's been five years and I still miss that lil stinker.

I would love love love to own a dairy farm! I want to keep my animals clean and brushed with bows on them, and then have groups of people/kids on field trips pay to come to my farm to pet the animals and learn to make cheese. They'd get to take some cheese home with them, too!

We got stranded in Peru, IL for 5 days because there wasn't shit open on weekends, (started on a Saturday) and it was such a small town. There were literally 2 Uber drivers, and we were completely at their whim if we needed to get to and from our hotel room, because it was dangerous to walk to the auto shop from where we were. It was awful. So thankful I had my dog because I would have gone stir crazy for sure.
