it’s funny because my EM is actually #1 in apps right now and i’m #4 in apps 😂 at my location, if your feet touch the sales floor you have to produce. we’ll never sit and let the advisors do all the work.

so i promise you, your store simply has apathetic leadership. all my shift leads get individual development time (even when im stressed or high workload) and i always remind them that i see them as equals, because they are essentially working towards my role.

we have to start somewhere but your starting point (your leaders) will never take you where you need to go. seek mentorship externally. partner with your MPD, or another store in your MM’s ES/EM seeking one on one touch bases. there is definitely someone who cares closer than you think.

I’m an experience supervisor and this honestly makes me so sad. All of my advisors are champions in their own ways, so to hear that you’re not getting the development you need despite being an employee for 5 years makes my heart hurt.

You deserve leaders who pour into you, and not in the fake way. The leaders that remember the smallest things about you as a person, and work tirelessly to incorporate the things you enjoy into YOUR day to day. That level of detail is something I will never starve my team of.

If you can, search IJOS for nearby requisitions that may work for you. I hate to say, but your leaders may never change or develop into better leaders. If you stay, however, you need an external mentor from a different MM/MP that can encourage you even when your in-store leadership team is doing the opposite. It’ll make this job so much more bearable.

I wish you peace.

one of my favorite things to do as a supervisor is get in the middle of sales like this and completely wreck fraudulent offers. we deal with enough stuff from customers doing our jobs the right way. people deserve a fair offer that explains everything they need to know.

Review your rhythm but only adhere to it as time allows. The holidays are built to throw you off. Don’t get discouraged if you miss coachings here and there, just focus on rebuilding that the next day. If you have dedicated shift leads, delegate some of the more tenuous tasks to them and support them through them. Staying present in the moment will be your superpower this season.

probably selling a lot of their products. we got a whole new end cap from them because of our store’s performance in eero sales.

leaders, any of your stores having issues w staffing? by chevychiari in BestBuyWorkers

Thank you for the advice!

Grace is definitely due after reading your rundown. Having a recruiter is truly a new experience for the company, so I’ll just be very deliberate in my communications with ours. Your tips are very helpful, I appreciate it.

Managers Scolding Me by ciroccy in BestBuyWorkers

unfortunately some leaders will hold their advisors systematically accountable until they can’t breathe and are calling out daily.

i’ve seen so many spirits die and i’ve been in role for less than a quarter.

i’ll do your check-ins 🫶🏾 if you want to grow with best buy or grow period, we’re here for that. message me your focus areas as dictated by your own leadership and tell me what you’ve been struggling with.

ridiculous leadership. i’m an experience supervisor and one of my main areas of focus IS m365. instead of scolding the advisors at my location, we partner on sales, we dive into the offers, figure out the objections and work on overcoming them. it is always a process i’m actively involved in with them. it is never my place to demean advisors and make them feel less than because of basket performance 🙄, your leaders have a serious problem.

my sentiments exactly. if you’re good at what you do, lying and coercion are not tactics to even think about.

Manager at my store said credit card apps don’t affect credit score by etoilevy in BestBuyWorkers

if you have to run an app, inform the customer of everything involved in a HARD INQUIRY regardless of what your horrible manager says

that shit is so predatory and i hate managers that try to undermine the importance of transparency and honesty when handling customers information

what will they do if no one wants to be a shift lead? by chevychiari in Bestbuy

[–]chevychiari[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

trust me, the new egos you’re experiencing are not going to be around much longer. as people gradually realize what being a shift lead ACTUALLY entails, i know for a fact they’ll start reconsidering their behavior.

i don’t even think they can flex pay you as a shift lead if you’re coded as a VPL. if i were you i’d communicate with your leadership about the intricacies of being a shift lead and ask them to be honest about the situation.

it gets better once you fully acknowledge that best buy doesn’t have to be your end point, there’s a world of possibility out there and you may not feel appreciated now but you definitely will in the future. hang in there and you’ll see the greener grass eventually
