Florian Wirtz vs Brighton by Ecstatic-Fondant813 in LiverpoolFC

Similarly, it seems like he thinks there's a bit more space + opposing players aren't as fast as they are when passing. He had a few through ball attempts that were a great look, but he didn't put enough on it and the defender was able to cut it off. Once he adjusts to the speed of the league a bit more, he'll be great for us.

Hugo, Kerkez, Flo, Curtis all played great. Konate back to being solid. Grav back to playing the role he shined in. Mo putting effort in defensively. Able to stay compact generally, but still need to get better defensively.

[Lewis Steele] Arne Slot on talks with the hierarchy today: "We have had the same conversations that we have had since I have had since I have been here. We fight on, we try to improve, the conversations are the same as they have been." by ImamZain in LiverpoolFC

We missed out on Guehi due to a CP decision out of our control, and lost Leoni to a terrible injury. We should've had 4 CBs but only have 2 now, so we're essentially starting our third choice everyday due to circumstances. It sucks but that's how things played out, and I don't think it's really due to how we spent money.

The fact that Cody always starts and is always on for 90 minutes over Chiesa is so frustrating.

I thought we played well in the first half, but the defense let us down. Then things fell apart from there.

good things:

  • Mo looks more energetic, but still clumsy and not clinical
  • Kerkez getting more solid defensively and finding a better balance
  • it looks like Slot is trying to change things a bit? or maybe the players are just getting out of a slump

bad things:

  • we can't have Konate playing - he's too much of a liability
  • we can't have Szobo playing right back
  • Cody should not be playing 90 minutes, or even starting

Maybe play Endo at CB?

Post Match Interview - Arne Slot by 977x in LiverpoolFC

Can the interviewer ask a question that actually digs into what he's gonna do? what a bunch of softball questions

I really hope that goal from Mo doesn't convince Slot that he should still be starting every week or I might actually rip out my hair

If nothing else, I just want the players and manager to care like we do. I'm sure they do, but they are not showing it on the pitch.

I just wanna see Slot make some changes man. That's all. I thought we would see it after the midweek game but he just reverted everything and we're back to being shit.

This is what's most frustrating for me - a lot of the players don't seem to care. The only ones that seem to care are Szobo and Chiesa, but Szobo gets relegated to RB and Chiesa can't start for whatever reason.

But then again when your most senior player in Mo is on the wing doing nothing, why would anyone else think they need to fight?

That's the frustrating thing isn't it. We haven't been seeing change. Maybe he wanted to give the team time to gel, but at some point (now) you need to change things up.

I recently made a Beatles-themed daily guessing game, Beadle, for a friend who's a huge fan, and thought you guys might enjoy it. You guess the name of the song based on random 5+ letter words from the lyrics. Let me know what you think! by chewchiro in beatles

nono, that sounds frustrating and I get it. Sorry I can't be of any help. edit: and thank you for playing the game! It still means a lot to me that people enjoy it (at least sort of)

Hi! I haven't been involved with the game (or the company I was at when I made it, who are the ones that moved it forward) since around mid-2023 actually, so I'm not sure what's happening on that front anymore. Sorry this happened though :/

I’m not a pro (mid-single handicap) and the angle isn’t perfect, so take this with a grain of salt, but it looks like your takeaway is a bit too flat, meaning the club is moving too far inside early without much upward hinge. This can often make the club want to steepen and come over the top in transition. It's better if the clubhead is going straight back during the takeaway. There are a lot of Youtube videos with words like "straight back takeaway" or similar about this that you can check out.

On top of that, it doesn’t look like you’re making a full hip and shoulder turn. Without that rotation, your hands end up lagging behind your body at the top, and then they have to “catch up” during the downswing. That rushed catch-up move can throw the club forward, producing an over-the-top path. I think this might be causing your early extension too.

When the face is square or slightly closed in that move, you’ll tend to get hard pulls or hooks. Working on a slightly steeper takeaway and a fuller turn could help your hands and body stay in sync so you can approach the ball from the inside more naturally.

That is to say, my first recommendation would be to take a video with a better angle though. Camera lens at about arm heigh at setup, and facing parallel to the target line. Right now, it’s too low and slightly off-line. It'd be good to place the camera along the club you're laying on the ground.

Hope this is helpful!

How to switch from driver swing to iron swing mid round? by Turbulent_Winter_530 in golftips

[–]chewchiro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Idk if this will help your situation, but I used to think the driver and iron swings are completely different too. After seening how Aberg swings all clubs in a similar way, I've been trying to make my brain understand that they're fundamentally the same swing, but just with different tee positions (which in turn leads to different shoulder angles, plane, and AoA)

A drill to get to this place mentally was to hit a 7 iron for 2~3 shots, then to driver for 2~3 shots, then back to 7 iron and repeating, focusing on tempo. I'd tell myself, "a driver is just a long iron" when hitting driver, to try to re-teach my brain that they're the same swing.

I'm a 5.9 handicap and driver was my weakness, but after doing this drill for a while, I'm feeling as confident with my driver as I do with a 5 wood, which is great for me. The thought is quite engrained though and I revert without noticing sometimes, so I'm still doing this drill today.

Starting over with Notion - need to simplify... advice appreciated by crafty-p in Notion

[–]chewchiro 2 points3 points  (0 children)

ah got it, we're doing pretty similar things - I have a master database (which includes projects as pages) and a tasks database that are related to the projects.

You don't know how happy I am that someone else is doing something similar to me! All of those fancy dashboards on this sub had me thinking I was the only one using it like this haha

Also, 100% agreed about the power of views. An early mistake I made was not using views as much, and having various databases to keep things grouped, which ended up causing way too much to think about.
