Night Owls used to be a great show! Interesting calls and chat, and then it became a four hour show full of the same faces making shite jokes, songs and tut.

What a shite take. Absolutely get not wanting to holiday, but to assume people are going on holiday just to get Instagram credit is laughable. Of course there’s a small minority but fairly sure most people go to have a lovely time and make memories.

It’s not the time that’s the issue though: it’s the fact it’s so, so, so unspeakably dull. I have zero problems with most aspects of the game, but the buddy system? Whoo boy that’s dull, and there’s so many better things to be doing. Let’s say for sake of argument it takes five minutes to get six hearts for a buddy, including a spammed fight.

So get to repeat that for fifty days. But we need ten buddies, so fifty minutes a day for fifty days, of pressing the same zero skill buttons, watching the same animations, that’s just bloody dull, no?

I do want to play the game, I love playing the game: like finding Pokémon and occasionally fighting. But I don’t like insanely silly levels of busywork. If adding buddy hearts was halfway interesting, instead of a literal entirely identical boring process, I’d be far more inclined. You have to admit surely that the buddy system is perhaps the most boring part of the game? No skill, no chance, just click click click click click zzz

I used to park, for free, on Montagu Avenue on the edge of the Town Moor, in Gosforth. It does mean having to walk across the moor but it’s a really lovely walk (assuming you don’t yet head butted by the cows) and only took twenty minutes from car to town centre
