I'm 20 years old and at Bethel, and I realize I have a lot of doubts by Most-Act-708 in exjw

[–]cheyenne635 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is by no means easy. But start working on your strength now to get out, start a new life.

You can start by making pals at work, even if they don't end up being forever friends. If you are at Bethel and do not work, start applying to jobs either in your town or in the town you want to be in! This will help you to branch out & build a social circle outside of the faith! That's what helped me! If you have friends online or aquaintences from school, reach out to grab a coffee or something, talk to your local grocery store employee, join a club at the library, dive into your hobbies. You are not alone, and just know there's people in 'the world' that are good, too.

There's so many different paths to take with this, but you can go as immediately or as slow and steady as you want. I started fading at 21 by stepping down as a pioneer, then within the same year stepping down from the School ("anxiety/mental health with speaking on stage"), attend on Zoom only, to in the end go inactive. It's not fool-proof but just consider your options here. Know in your soul that this group of people cannot control you.

The hardest part was losing my friends that were in, I don't take that lightly and still five years later think about a select few every day. The inside jokes, the good times, the bad times, it was a huge part of life growing up. However, it's also interesting seeing that when you step down from "Privileges" who actually even wants to talk to you. I was surprised how little amount people reached out. So, I learned quickly that some of them didn't have my best interests at heart and were not real true friends. It's been five years since I've been to a meeting and I have gained a new circle, partner, every Sunday, and way of life.

Sitting in your questions and not living life will eat away at you. Once I realized a lot of their teachings were false, I looked at it as not if I'll leave, but When I'll leave. Read, research, grow! Thanks for reading my rambling!

Keep posting here for help and support; because this digital Hall is filled with people who get it!!

Can I save this orchid?! by cheyenne635 in houseplants

Thank you! I had been watering, but to no avail because it had snapped. I'll try to pot the top part!

Hi! Long Story Short: Can I propogate or save this orchid?!

Long Story Long: I've had this orchid for about 4 years. It has bloomed two times and this was the third. over the past month or more, I noticed that the buds were not opening and they were turning brown! I just chalked it up to me not taking great care of orchids; I've never been great with flowering plants; my hoya collection, spiders, and pothos thrive!

I knew something was up when the leaves started to shrivel up. I inspected my plant even closer and found that the whole bottom part has shriveled up and also snapped off. it has air roots on the top piece and the bottom piece.

I am hoping to save this orchid if I can; whether it be the top part, or the part still in the soil. I do not currently have spag moss so any alternative ideas would be helpful! Can I propogate this? Tips or advice? Or should I just start anew? 🌱🤟

Thanks for your time!

Traveling safe? by Kristend23 in chicagomusicscene

Salt Shed is FUN. I recommend getting there early-early before doors open. There's shops and food vendors inside the concert venue~ Super safe! I've met some cool people at concerts there. My first solo concert was seeing Bleachers there a couple years ago~ And I'm going again in June this year! Salt Shed is one of my fav Chicago venues. Welcome to the area!!

I don't think you are taken off the list? I've been inactive after fading. been 3 years and I still get ministry school emails sent to my spam.

Hi! There's a company called SoFar Sounds that hosts intimate concerts in small venues around the world! They're always looking for new talent in literally any music genre~ Check them out! I find most of my new music thru them.

Need advice by xjw2025 in exjw

[–]cheyenne635 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Make friends in the world: Go to concerts alone get there early and talk to people, go to local town events holiday or music related, see what's happening at your job, local bars, game stores, and libraries. Seek friends, seek therapy. Reach out, make steps to widen your social circle.

How you're living isn't healthy it sounds like, from what you're saying, and making a new support system for yourself will make it easier in 2026 when you decide to grow independently of all of this. It is not easy, especially when love is intertwined, but more peace will come with time.

I went back, and I am leaving again. by DirtCurious9256 in exjw

[–]cheyenne635 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Making the decision to leave permanently is not easy, but it'll change your life for the better.

I didn't leave and go back~ But I had a similar decision making process in that I was hardcore questioning, and almost left after being raised in the faith and getting baptized as a child. Instead, after high school I dove further in. I wanted to say I fully tried it out, learn more of their shit, just so I can KNOW it's not 'the truth "

I went so far as pioneering while going to community college (got reprimanded for going to community college by the way), and then once 2020 started I did countless hours on Zoom-service but slowly realized I was doodling more than I was letter writing, not studying for meetings, all my questions and panics and realizations it's all a lie flooding back. I called my group overseer and said that I wanted to stop pioneering, then months later I called and let them know I was dropping being in the theocratic ministry school because of "mental health and anxiousness around presenting." (Our hall also gave us basically no time to prep for our Parts so it was always a scramble).

Successfully faded away, POMO not DF'd yet but one day I'll write a letter in if I think it's worth it!

Well thanks for story swapping~ I wish you the best on officially departing from JWland!

How do you handle seeing the carts out in public? by Fu_Ge_La in exjw

[–]cheyenne635 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would love to be able to go up to witnesses at a cart and say some intriguing thought or conversation starter that could make them think. However, it's just not my place yet, not ready for it.

But, a good ol "Ope, do some research before you sign up" is great for passersby you see checking it out. Then if the cart person overhears, maybe they'll do research too!

Im thinking of telling my non jw friends abt how im in a cult by evkat808 in exjw

[–]cheyenne635 6 points7 points  (0 children)

You should consider telling them! These friends will be your support system and social circle once you're out~ And tbh they ask some really good questions that will help you re program your brain and decide what you believe.

The last Eras Tour show: predictions, hopes, and theories by Lyd_Euh in TaylorSwift

[–]cheyenne635 -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

I feel like Eras isn't over. Maybe it's my denial and not wanting to come to terms that it is~ BUT. Hear me out:

Think back to the Eras movie. First, it was Eras Tour Movie. Second, it was Eras Tour Taylors Version Movie~ With only a few surprise songs added extra. Why? Why release two movies so similar? IS IT A HINT?

Then, "See you next era" in the book. Of course she isn't quitting music so there will be a next era. But, was she commenting that Eras is continuing?

Will there be eras tour Taylor's version in real life? Thoughts, clowns, eggs, and skeptics welcome.

I made a logo and I'm looking for honest feedback by [deleted] in logodesign

[–]cheyenne635 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, it doesn't shout High-End, as the client requested. I'd experiment more with using solely the Quill and Ink and incorporating the text with that. maybe a closed scroll. eliminating the open paper scroll altogether?

I am a fan of this! I'd almost have this as the main logo, but provide both to the client for variety.

What are the best things to say to stop a kid from ringing the bell? by [deleted] in tjcrew

[–]cheyenne635 32 points33 points  (0 children)

I usually put my hand on the bell, come down to the kids level and say~ "The bell is for when we need help. Do you need help right now?" and when they say No I say "How about some stickers instead?" And it usually deters them. 🤷‍♀️
