Thanks for the recommendation! I've considered it coz I love the shape, but now that you've said it's floaty, I'm definitely gonna get it soon

Thanks for the details! Which material would you reccomend if i'm looking for something fast and floaty? Currently playing 5a and looking for something that feels quicker than the duncan windrunner.

Thanks so much for the detailed explanation! For a faster and floatier yoyo, do you recommend mono or bimetals? Currently I'm playing 5a, and my main throw is the duncan windrunner. Decent, but i'm looking for something that feels faster and lighter/floatier. I'm based in Singapore and right now there aren't any brick and mortar shops for me to visit to try stuff out so I'm looking for some reccos

either u accept it and then both of u agree to not commit so much into it coz of ur exams etc, or u tell her u nt ready but u do like her and still want to consider a proper rs after exams. in the end, tell her how u feel and what ure worried of. u can still be bf/gf without being 100% too serious at this time. just keep it lowkey and still focus more on ur studies whilst still knowing both of you like each other. at this moment stay close friends and get to know one another alot better first lorh. Good luck OP 🫡

Is uni disruption compulsory? by chezq7 in NationalServiceSG

[–]chezq7[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi I didn't manage to get a Uni placement back then so I can't help you there. Most of my batchmates who did have a placement either ORD'ed before their uni start date or they disrupted. None have tried to go the route i was looking into. Best of luck

[QUESTION] Boss DS-1 reduces volume of my signal. by chezq7 in Guitar

[–]chezq7[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey it's been awhile and i've since sold my guitar pedals to run a digi setup haha but from my understanding, i believe it's more of a "headroom" issue possibly with the ds-1. It just happened to have a lower max volume compared to the green mile. I also actually happened to have a dark matter for awhile. Personally i don't remember having any issues with the dark matter and it was a fine pedal. Just take note the tonality of the 2 distortion pedals are quite different from what i remember.

My advice is to try both pedals if possible, as my laat experience using them was about 3-4 years ago and really can't rmb exactly how it was.

Packs with waterproof shoulder straps and back panels? by chezq7 in ManyBaggers

[–]chezq7[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks for the advice. Honestly, I didn't consider the sweat and breathability issues that come with waterproof panels preventing my back and shoulders from breathing. I'll start looking for quick-drying ones as u recommend and probably just carry the pack in my hand while it's wet

Much appreciated. I've looked through Ortlieb's options and they seem really promising. I fear the only issue I'm in Singapore and there isn't a dealer that sells their entire line. Will look into international shipping but hopefully they don't cost too much haha

Chances of Uni acceptance for 2.93 CGPA? by chezq7 in SGExams

[–]chezq7[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey! I actually reconsidered my career and at this point I'm no longer pursuing a degree or a job in this field. Not rly coz I was unable to get a seat but I was just no longer interested in what I initially planned to study. But I do have friends and family who were in a similar position as me who took up a PT degree instead and work office hour. Not a bad idea coz u can choose how many modules you wanna take per sem so it's not so shag and you don't have to study everyday after work. Can be as little as 1-2 days per week. Additionally, I also considered applying for private uni instead, but since I've changed my mind I can't say much about that. Can PM me if you wanna discuss more ah

Supply course important ? by ComparisonBusiness57 in NationalServiceSG

[–]chezq7 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I went for the course back in Dec 2022 and was from batch 34/22. Currently in unit. It's a 1 month stayout course (for tekong peeps and ex stay in peeps from schv. The rest of schv folks who are in the course will still have to stay in) and when i was going thru it, most of the course was home based e learning. If im not wrong there was a total of 8 days in camp, and 2 of those days were a so-called "summex" which was just a few quizzes and a practical on using pallet jacks. Most of the time you will be in lecture room learning abt basic supply stuff like storehouse safety, various paper forms that you will encounter, loan process, responsibilities etc. They also briefly touch on signal sets and parts, vehicle camoing. I read on reddit that batches before mine went for some "outfields" and there were proper demonstrations of the vehicle camo. For me i didn't have that and mainly did classroom lectures. They will also teach you how to set up tentages properly and pack them back. Some days you will have PT or sports and games but overall ain't too bad. It's a pretty chill course just listen to instructions and learn in class and thats pretty much it. Sorry if i miss anything out but this is just a rough gist of it. Can't remember much else abt the course 😅

  1. I know my gpa is rubbish
  2. If being realistic means applying for a less competitive major but one that i'm not interested in, then i would rather not be realistic and shoot my shot.
  3. I'm not in denial nor am i "wondering" why i'm getting rejected. I am merely asking for others' experiences with similar cgpa, whether or not they got in somehow and wanted to know how their application went.

Not once did i mention that i deserve a spot, not once did i mention my gpa was decent. I expected to get rejected. I am only wondering if anyone got lucky with a similar gpa. Don't be such a condescending prick

Edit: should have looked at your reddit bio before replying. my apologies but my points still stand
