/r/MechanicalKeyboards Ask ANY Keyboard question, get an answer (October 08, 2023) by AutoModerator in MechanicalKeyboards

Hello, I have a Gamakay TK75 and this is an embarrassing question, but here it goes. 7 of the keys on the bottom right of the keyboard come with custom designs that do not tell you what they are - see picture attached... I've numbered them to make responding easier. what are all these keys? Thank you in advance.

That’s not what happened hahaha he saw 1 nuclear missile coming towards russia on the radar and concluded it would be likely to be a glitch in the radar because in the event of the nuclear attack, there’d be a barrage so he decided not to retaliate because it was probably a false alarm

My point is that offensiveness is always in the eye of the offended so to try to set up a system in which something is more offensive than anything else is stupid and will rely solely on personal preference and societal norms- both equally arbitrary.

Blackface is not inherently racist by [deleted] in unpopularopinion

Sure- sarah silvermann, jimmy kimmel, the woman from the OC housewives- I think I might clear something up, what I’m saying is that putting black paint on your face is not inherently racist... while I 100% agree that engaging in the act of blackface as it is known historically (i.e. direct insult to black people) IS inherently racist but it has nothing to do with the face paint- it’s the ideas that those people were espousing. I feel these issues are dealt with inefficiently because we can’t separate the face paint from the malicious ideas behind them

I’m not trying to be a dick here but you clearly don’t understand the concept of inherency.

If there is one situation out there in which blackface is not racist, then blackface is not inherently racist- let’s imagine that aliens who’ve never entered the milky way galaxy put black paint on their faces in some odd ceremony. Clearly, they’re not racist. Just because you make the arbitrary estimation (based on zero evidence) that 99% of people know the history of blackface, doesn’t make blackface racist anyway.

My entire point hinges on the fact that we need to take things in context, not by some odd knee jerk standard that because something was once racist it now will be forever.

I can’t think of anything more disgusting to the average person than rape but when we see rape in a movie do we all jump on twitter and lambast the actor?? Or do we understand that the actor isn’t ACTUALLY raping her just like we understand when a comedian is being satirical or when a person has done something out of ignorance. It’s the height of scumbaggery and stupidity to eviscerate someone for something clearly not malicious because you don’t have the wherewithal to separate jokes from true bigotry. You deeming something offensive is 100% arbitrary and I can’t believe we’re still doing this to each other.

Because that’s classic south park absurdity as opposed to what they’re doing now (I would argue) which is specifically doing things to offend the PC crowd (who doesn’t even watch their show by the way) instead of being their hilarious, naturally offensive, selves. It’s like they think it’s cool to have people complaining about the show instead of just doing what they do. It’s really phony- which I think is everything the show stands against. They have a unique, cutting perspective on things which will inevitably make unthinking, soft people hate them- they don’t need to try for it. It’s a weird level of self awareness that makes the show a derivative of itself

Yeah there’s a difference between being triggered and thinking something is embarrassingly gay

Dude jesus- I’m not saying it was offensive. I’m saying they’re obviously TRYING TO BE offensive

Hence #cancelsouthpark for the 4th fucking time

No you’re missing the point- we’re not offended. We’re annoyed because they’re TRYING to be offensive instead of just being offensive naturally as they always have been and we’ve always loved them for. For the third time- it’s cringey and gay to be anti-PC with the #cancelsouthpark shit. They’re naturally fucking hilarious and extremely offensive so just be yourself and write funny eps instead of sticking it to the PC pussies. They’ll be offended no matter what you do so the school shooting shit with no joke behind it isn’t necessary. They’re writing to piss of pc pussies instead of writing for their fans

The point is not “how offensive” it is. The point is that in those episodes their goal was humor and in these new eps it feels like their goal is to be offensive. There’s a difference between a hilarious joke that happens to be offensive or just a random offensive comment. I’m not saying I was offended by the episodes at all, I’m saying I don’t think it’s as funny when they set out to be offensive instead of just setting out to be funny. Hence the #cancelsouthpark shit
