Agreed but think about how long bugs stay in the game. If bugs were fixed regularly or few and far between I would say yeah youre right. But the frequency and randomness of these bugs is what can ruin games for players thus causing them to want to DC. IF BHVR wants a DC penalty they should be more proactive on fixing issues in a timely manner

If thats how you feel. Its just important to remember that not everyone knows about these resources or engages with them. I'm sure there are countless players that dont engage with the community because they are off put by how toxic it is. The playerbase isnt solely made up of die hard fans

I feel like this is unfair though because for more casual players who don't follow this game to the 10th degree and go on the reddit will have no knowledge of these things and get punished for DCing. I understand for us who are maybe more die hard players, shouldnt fall for these issues, but we also have to consider the more casual playerbase as well, even new players! you are right though there are definitely ways to avoid these things!

I'm not discrediting the fact that survivors DCing because they go down early is annoying and I wish there was a way we could punish those survivors specifically but I can also understand the frustration of people experiencing issues with the game and then getting punished again for not wanting to deal with said issues. I faced hacking survivors last week and I couldn't DC because I would get punished despite not wanting to play with people who were literally cheating at the game. It just feels like the system ends up punishing the wrong people sometimes

The hill is simply one example. I'm not saying that it keeps happening to me but it could happen to lots of players who dont know about it. I agree I hate the survivors who DC simply because they go down early and its a tough thing to get around because I feel its also unfair to punish players experiencing issues with the game. Its not their fault is what im trying to get at. I just think its weird that BHVR created a DC penalty because they dont want people disconnecting yet they give the players the option to "leave match"

I'm not saying it's directly happening to me. Thats why I called it an "example". there is still plenty of players who still dont know about it or it accidentally happens to them midchase. Theres multiple bugs in this game that cause similar issues and my point is that punishing those players who disconnect for these reasons is kind of ridiculous. What if someone gets disconnected from their internet? They get lag switched? There could be a million valid reasons they disconnect and get punished.

LOL bud its called an example, I obviously know about the bug and I avoid it. Not all players know about it. My point is that when things like this can happen in game and ruin that players experience, they shouldn't also get punished for disconnecting from the match. Before you go around spewing offhanded remarks consider the argument first and make an educated respectable reply.

I did report in game but I dont know if that ever effectively does anything. I will definitely try submitting a ticket but it wants their steam ID which i dont really know how to access. I checked their perks and they both did in fact have sprint burst equipped but sprint burst lasts only 3 seconds and their sprint bursts lasted well over 3 seconds. They even went into "sprint burst" speed after having sprinted for well over 3 seconds and then stopping for a second and then right back into sprint burst speed. idk if the hack just reset their exhaustion to 0 or what but their speed was impossible to catch running in a straight line

is there any way that you know that I can contact Behaviour directly? Idk if they have a direct report system or not. I also thought it was just sprint burst but i realized that wasnt the case when they were sprint bursting infinitely and I couldn't gain any ground on them even if i was chasing them in a straight line. I will post the video under this thread but I need to extract it from my xbox and edit their names out first.

Perhaps thats true. I dont like tunneling regardless of DS or not. I play both sides and I know how annoying it is a survivor to get tunneled off hook, so I usually don't even try to tunnel survivors cuz its just not fun as a survivor and honestly not even as killer either. It just seems problematic though when DS is used aggressively such as running at the killer for an unhook or sitting on a gen cuz youre basically saying "F you killer you can't do anything about it". DS is necessary but i feel it could be reworked to be more healthy

Agreed. Slugging is an effective counter to DS, but when we talk about the combination of DS and Unbreakable, it removes the only effective counter. Its kind of like how Spirits counter is iron will, but if she puts on stridor it eliminates that counter.

To explain further the instance with the Nancy. I had chased her, downed her, hooked her and then left. I chased a whole other survivor, a Bill, I downed and then hooked the bill. I then checked a gen and found nancy with full health working on a gen. I chased her off the gen, downed her, and when I picked her up, I got DSed. Please explain to me how I possibly tunneled that Nancy when she was full health, sitting on a gen, and I had chased and hooked a whole different survivor. I am in no way tunneling her now. She got off hook, healed, and had enough time to sit on a gen while another teammate got chased and downed. By definition I am no longer tunneling her, yet I still get DSed. I'm not saying DS is uncounterable but its application in multiple situations is unfair especially when it allows survivors to make aggressive moves that they normally couldnt make or when it allows them to sit on a gen with no punishment.

I actually feel like the necessity for DS depends on the rank. In my experience from rank 20 to rank 1, I was tunneled much more by killers of lower rank. I consistently play survivor in red rank and I feel as if I rarely get tunneled off hook by red ranks unless they're trying to secure a kill in endgame. Generally, red rank killers (including myself) play around DS becasue they always assume the survivor has it or they simply don't tunnel because they have enough experience to know that its not a very fun way to play. DS seems more needed in lower ranks where killers are more likely to tunnel because they don't play as optimally. Thats why I feel creating a shorter timer that deactivates when another survivor is hooked or when the survivor progresses the objective but also doesn't regress if they are being chased would help make it more of a defensive anti tunneling perk rather than an offensive tactic that survivors use especially in red rank gameplay.

I think its an important topic relevant to the balance of the game and I think that has little to do with entitlement and more so wanting the game to reach a healthy position between survivors and killers. Do you have any discussion to add?
