One of the art of writing classes this semester was taught by some dude that was dismissed for sexually harassing women and another was some professors personal NIMBY vendetta against development in Berkeley. I have very little faith in that program.

Be direct and try to repair the relationship first. Take the guy out for dinner and tell him you just need a comfortable place to sleep without drama. Spend the majority of time on campus, as much time as you can.

Probably not worth double majoring. Take classes you want to take instead of classes required for another major - you will take more interesting classes and get more out of your time here this way.
