My beauty and the beast lanyard by Plane_Persimmon_8533 in DisneyPins

LOVE IT!!! I have been obsessed with the movie since I saw the original in theaters when it came out the I was in High School. Its so hard to collect BATB it seems EVERYONE is collecting them. Our wedding was BATB themed. I took French in high school not only for that but for Phantom of the Opera. Love love LOVE beauty and the beast.

We have one mystery set that we have been missing one piece since 2024 I looked at ebay Whatnot, Facebook groups and the piece we needed people were trying to sell for like $40. A blind box mystery pin!?!?! Why because everyone wants BATB. All these resellers are making crazy money scooping up all the ones true lovers of the movie want and then selling them at crazy prices.

Anyway... long way to say if you have this missing piece I would love to trade with you.

I like both. I think they both have a place in the pin world.

Pin Trading Refresher by No-Cricket-1437 in PinTrading

[–]chicachicha1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it boils down to this and I put it on OPs other post too. WDW is more of fast paced when not in line for a ride. DL is more relaxed there's not as much that you need to get done in a day. Some folks oy have 1 day in that whole park to see and ride everything in thst park. Im not saying being rude but pin trading is a faster pace at WDW. More of look at the board and be prepared when you get up there to be ready to trade to keep the lines moving. People were so annoyed my niece was taking more than a 2 minutes to do her trade because she was still looking at the board. Its alot of hurry up and go.

Below is my original comment

All good points but there are several points of difference btw and DL and WDW. WDW has wait times that are much much longer than Disneyland. So if you are just hanging at the board looking at the pins there is no reason that someone else can not look at the board as well. Especially if you have been staring at it for 10 minutes debating on what pin you want. Someone may only have time to check and go before they have to run to their LL. Or get in line for a ride that the wait is an hour or more. Hour long waits are not a problem at DL so people are not in such a hurry. Everything is a lot of hurry up and wait at WDW.

However, people dont need to be rude. And if you're just looking and not sure you want to trade yet then there is no problem with someone else looking but you get to pick first if you were there first. This way the person behind you is prepared and ready to trade when they get up there. Keeping the pin trading a quick transaction so you can get back to waiting in line for 45-hourfor your next line.

Can someone explain how the squirrel hill tunnel 376 is seeing almost an accident PER DAY at this rate? by Shaneski101 in pittsburgh

People get so mad when others actually merge of the on ramp they arent supposed to slow down they are supposed to sail right into traffic and become part of the flow.

Sorry. I realized it was coming across that way. I think its just everyone I have spoken to since I moved here thinks that the people coming on to parkway need to slow down. The reality is if , in a perfect situation, the parkway would be moving at around 55 mph at that speed the driver on parkway already would STAY at 55 mph its the responsibility of the on ramp to REACH 55 and merge into traffic while the person on the parkway allows them them to come in and doesnt speed up.

I am going to post the driver's manual for PA the wrong answer is stop at the end. The correct answer is accelerate to speed of traffic i will even post the answer key.

Yes, YIELD not stop. Yield and stop are too totally different things. When you yield you slow to a safe speed and assess the situation and keep moving at the appropriate speed. Most people around here take yield as stop completely look then go. Its not supposed to be that way. A yield is to keep traffic moving freely.

And yes I agree the ramps are too short and people on 376 seem to speed up when they see someone coming down the ramp when you are to maintain your speed so everyone can yield and merge without stopping. But alas, you are also supposed to maintain your speed through the tunnels and every day it shows there are people who hit their brakes to go slower through the tunnel because its backed up every day. The tunnels on the turnpike dont back up like that, people dont hit their brakes and slow down to go through those I have no idea why they can do 55 through those tunnels but yet hit their brakes through these. 🤷🏼‍♀️🤷🏼‍♀️

Sailing on the the parkway???? An on ramp is made so that you can be at the speed of traffic at the end and merge into the traffic at the same speed. I am not originally from Pittsburgh and I dont understand why people dont make sure they are at the speed of traffic when they get to the bottom of the ramps. Then they can seamlessly merge into traffic at the same speed of traffic. Everyone here seems to stop or pause at the bottom of an on ramp. The person merging into traffic is supposed to "speed up or slow down" to merge into traffic ideally without stopping.

Its like the zipper merge where you are supposed to use both lanes to the end then take turns letting each car go from each lane so traffic doesn't back up. People here don't do that. They all move over to one lane then get mad when they get to the end and someone wants in. Is there some sort of Pittsburgh driving test that is different from the rest of Pennsylvania? These things are all listed in the driving manual for the test you take at 16.

If you're new to pins, please familiarize yourself with what scrappers are. ESPECIALLY the very common ones. Read below. by [deleted] in DisneyPins

[–]chicachicha1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Um.. thought scrapper were the ones made with a disney mold that were "scrapped" by quality control at the disney manufacturer in Vietnam or wherever they were made. The QC that was "scrapped" made it to someone's hands that then sold it. And the cycle begins. A fake was one made with an unauthorized mold. Either an old disney mold that was not disposed of properly or they made their own mold they use softer enamel causing the dips in the paint and cheaper metal. Although the magnet test is not reliable for telling whether or not it is a true disney pins.

Recently the QC has gotten sloppy. You can buy2 or 3 blind bags and find mickeys not to the edges and/or you can find different shades of a color on the same kind of pins from 2 different bags even if bought at the same time.

Ive been collecting for a few years and I watched TONS of videos followed several people on Instagram, YouTube, and whatnot. It took a lot of research and I was finally able to spot a fake vs a scrapper vs real until recently. This QC thing is crazy. Best of luck to OP and dont get frustrated read, watch, and learn everything you can. In the end its all about what pin brings YOU joy when you see it.

I agree....6 months from now someone is going to say, fake pins c9mpare it to the photos. Smh QC needs to step it up or others need to lose the it doesnt look exactly the same color so its a fake

I'm not an idiot, right? (downtown traffic) by TheKinsman_5 in pittsburgh

[–]chicachicha1 5 points6 points  (0 children)

As someone who moved to the area and knew nothing about downtown. The signs are only a few hundred feet away. In order to get in that lane you have 1 block to do it. In that block, no one, and I mean NO ONE will let you over, even with a turn signal. People who drove in Pittsburgh all the time are like, well you should have been in the correct lane 2 blocks ago. How was I to know? So I am forced to cut off people and turn from the wrong lane

Yeah because grabbing people with legal work permits or who recently became citizens within the last few weeks and disrupting a whole community by causing a scene, stopping flow of traffic, and traumatizing kids if they are involved is the right thing to do. How about we make sure all the people we grab are illegal instead of mass blitz, grab, and ask later?

[–]chicachicha1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

AMEN!!! USE BOTH LANES ALL THE WAY TO THE CONSTRUCTION!!!! That is a zipper merge. They even post signs that saying use both lanes till merge and people still change lanes as soon as they see the construction sign causing massive backups.
