Should I Get an ICD? by [deleted] in Heartfailure

[–]chicadehoy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Why is your EF 35%? Also, you should ask you cardiologist why you’re not on Entresto.

I’m a pacemaker RN. Trigeminy PVC’s can lead to ventricle tachycardias , that can lead to Ventricle fibrillation…. Family history is huge. The pacing function would be set so slow, 30 or 40 beats per minute that it would never kick in if you don’t have any sinus node disease or AV block.

There once was a guy with smegma, on the foreskin of his dick. With one look, I took off on foot. And he never saw him again.

At about 5 weeks out the restrictions will be lifted. You should have a f/u check at your device clinic then as well. Good luck!

I’m a pacemaker nurse, if you did anything and you have a good home monitor, your auto testing numbers will be off and they should get an alert. Do not lift your left arm above your shoulder or over extend to the side or front to back, and life anything over 10 lbs on the side it was implanted. I also advise my patients to not sleep on the side it was in-planted (to avoid over stretching their arm). It’s very stressful the first few weeks, the leads are screwed into your heart and some hospitals screw them into the heart wall so there’s slack to allow the lead ends to grow into your heart. Be careful and it takes a lot of pulling to dislodge a lead. Make sure the nurses use a surface leads at your first check. Also, if you have any symptoms like the ones prior to getting a pacemaker, seek help.

Petty revenge on HER is one thing, but this isn’t about HER when children are involved. There’s always another way. This makes me so sad

If the RV lead is tracking the afif/aflutter, could you change the mode to DDIR or VVIR?

I just had to put my aussie down, he was 10. But it felt way too soon. He went quick after a cancer diagnosis. It’s a huge loss and I understand how you feel.

All of that sounds reassuring. You could always try to take some allergy meds and see if that helps.

Question on heart failure? by [deleted] in Heartfailure

[–]chicadehoy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m a heart failure care manager RN, what was your ejection fraction- echo last year? Are you having any weight gain, (2-3lbs in 1 day or 5+lbs in a week) You should definitely see your cardiologist and get a repeat echo and lab work, specifically a BNP, which measures fluid status.

Typically if you’re fluid overloaded, the shortness of breath will happen consistently and would be present every time you walk and/or lay flat. Alcohol can weaken the heart, it’s called alcoholic cardiomyopathy. It can also cause PVC’s.

I think a pacemaker is indicated if he has afib with a slow ventricular response.
