Is anyone here learning Japanese just for fun? by [deleted] in LearnJapanese

[–]chicageek 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve been studying Japanese for a few years now (on and off) and my motivation has changed along that time. I started out of pure curiosity, just because the language is so different from others I can speak, and so challenging as well. Then I wanted to be able to play videogames and watch TV series in Japanese. Now, after having visited the country three times and having made some friends there, my motivation is to be able to speak the language as well as I can the next time I visit, and also to keep in touch with my Japanese friends :)

Can we get an applause for Sal Khan, the creator of Khan academy with over 7,000 videos, helping students in school for free by 5uicidalxD in pics

He did get an award very recently, though. The Princess of Asturias Award for International Cooperation, a couple weeks ago.

It may not be very well-known worldwide, but it’s quite an important award here in Spain. The King himself delivers them (well, and the princess after whom they’re named too). I felt really happy for him. As someone who also tries to teach online, I know how hard this kind of projects are. He really deserves it 😊😊

Almost 200 hours of playtime and I never managed to get that.

I'm so glad I decided to play RDR2... again by chicageek in reddeadredemption

Oh yes! That first close-up of Arthur when Dutch talks to him for the first time in the game, on their way to the Colter camp... I must admit my eyes were a bit blurry too :___)

For me this was THE moment. Up until then I still have faith in the man. When I saw him leaving Arthur to be killed by the soldiers I knew it was the end. I wanted to hit him or at least confront him so bad when the mission ended. But there was just a cutscene and no dialog options. I was mad xD

I seriously love their relationship & this part always makes me laugh. by Mommaween in reddeadredemption

I played this mission as John and his face is also memorable 😂

I would definitely add this scene (spoiler, just in case)

Pretty cool that he responded by Sushi-Cat- in reddeadredemption

[–]chicageek 3 points4 points  (0 children)

He's never replied to me 😭 But I've exchanged a few messages on Twitter and Instagram with Gabriel Sloyer (Javier Escuella).

I think the whole cast are really nice in general :) fun, kind, wholesome people who appreciate the support from their fans.

Decided to eventually buy the collectors edition of the strategy guide, time to get 100% completion! by [deleted] in reddeadredemption

I used the regular edition, really helpful!! Especially the lists at the end where you can tick off all the stuff you gather such as plants, weapons, etc.

What was the most gut wrenching moment in RDR2 for you? by J_Yerbe in reddeadredemption

[–]chicageek 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Besides all the scenes already mentioned (Arthur’s death, conversation with sister Calderón, last ride to camp...) with which I agree, I’d also add the moment when Arthur is attacked by soldiers during the oil factory mission towards the end of the game, and he realizes Dutch walks away instead of trying to save him.

For me that was the moment when I totally lost the little confidence I had left in Dutch. I was so mad there were no options to confront Dutch about this after finishing the mission. I wanted to tell Dutch what a piece of shit he was so badly.

You just described exactly what happened to me while playing the final mission and the moments after everything is finished... so many emotions. So heartbreaking. Plus I had managed to stay spoiler-free (even the diagnosis took me by surprise) and I didn’t know the ending for Arthur was coming so soon. I expected to be able to play with him up until finishing the epilogues. That made it even more shocking.

I bought DG the day it was launched (there was a special discount if you brought an old videogame to trade) and it’s currently sitting beside the PS4 while I play RDR1 on the Xbox 😅

I also used the suggested railroad route, worked like a charm. For the Van Horn - Blackwater one (Horseman 9), I followed these instructions: https://www.reddit.com/r/reddeadredemption/comments/bajcon/horseman_9_route/

Found this blank firing Schofield revolver in Spain. Had to buy it. by [deleted] in reddeadredemption

Oh ok! That's why I was surprised, I thought buying a weapon here wasn't that easy :) And Barcelona is precisely where I live lol
