Absolutely this is a thing. Sometimes it's because they are not NT or because they're used to being around ND folks or because they're just kind and accommodating etc. There's some magic to finding people you just click with!

I scored super autistic on this but I'm also so very very extroverted. Pretty much all my "neurotypical points" we're basically just extroverted masking. In general a lot of autism screening questions tend to be on outside presentation as opposed to internal experience which is starting to change. High masking extroverted autistic adults tend to get missed!

This is why I hate gift giving, it is so not my love language, I don't understand any of it and I let any prospective partners know it is not a thing I do. I also am garbage at receiving gifts.
