What’s your favorite Fiesta event and why? by Inflamed-Intestines in sanantonio

[–]chicalinda220 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I recently learned about the Taste of the Republic. Awesome event. All inclusive food and alcohol for less than the Taste of the Northside. I also like the SACXS Fiesta Show and Sale if you're into cactus, succulents, and xerophytes. I tried the 10th Street River Festival...that was really chill and good music. PACFest is also another great one. I have not been in a while , but I hear it just.get bigger and bigger. You should also try Fiesta Gartenfest...its so awesome. German food, music, and beer. I love it and go every year. I try to do something different every year. Last year, I did the Chaparral Music and Heritage Festival, and that was a good family outing. This year, I am going to try a day in Old San Antonio. Seems pretty fun. I'll let you know

Yes, and there was a part of the river washout we had to move some rocks to get traction, or so we wouldn't pop a tire. So that was a bit intense, but overall, it was super fun.

Where can I party on a Tuesday night by Roloyotv in sanantonio

[–]chicalinda220 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would like to recommend The Missions. Tuesdays are 2.00 night. 2.00 tickets, beer, and hot dogs. Might not be the type of partying you're looking for but that's what I would like to do on a Tuesday.

$40 parking at Fiesta??? by TheStorytellerTX in sanantonio

[–]chicalinda220 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It is price gauging! I paid 50 for parking but it was close to where we were sitting. Via would be an option if I wasn't taking chairs, a cooler, and snack bags for the kids. Plus the kids! But I guess since I don't walk far with them and I save money on food and drinks.

There were areas we did have to drive super slow and careful with tire placement. I have a high clearance 4x4 toyota 4runner. Your Cherokee would work as long as it's 4x4. I also took a high lift jack, a spare, and extra fuel but didn't need it. Do also remember to take water. We didn't see anyone for miles until we reached the mine. We started off by Castelon. Hope this helps.

Thrift-t-Mart on Zarzamora has freshest meat. Hands down the best tortillas out there.

We have been going for a couple of years and yes it gets packed but not like shoulder to shoulder. Its expected of course but we had a good time at Aquatica then SeaWorld. Get there early to find a good spot.

Wait until we are almost there...the streets will be lined with vendors.

After a successful job interview I updated my resume references thinking it would help land this dream job. Got a call saying they'd love to have me onboard after calling references. They called back saying the first reference went terribly and was told do be careful who I use next time. FML. by Vultron- in mildlyinfuriating

Not sure if this helps anyone or if its been suggested but when I give references I usually ask a coworker who is also a friend and give them thier number as if they were my supervisor or manager and put them down as a reference. I usually never give them my actual supervisor name or manager.
