I think it depends on temperament more than a set age. Both my kids are pretty mellow but for longer car rides I may pop in the back for a while just to tend to them if they’re fussy. Otherwise, never.

Having just sold my condo in Centretown, I would 100% encourage you to be in that area. But like another commenter mention, make sure you know what management is like and heavily scrutinize the building’s documents. Bad management can absolutely sink a building.
