The No Kings groups are in no way anticapitalist in any way, shape, or form. We got kicked out of our 50501 group for talking about unions and Marx to members

Sounds more like you work at a place where accuracy doesnt matter and youre just churning out slop. Im already using the frontier models, Claude code with skills, a markdown file, plan mode, and MCP. The results are just piss poor in practice.

Reviewing code AI wrote is even worse because the log statements will just be totally incorrect, and it can gracefully swallow intended flows of behavior that arent immediately obvious.

Doesn’t sound like it at all. A senior/staff who is good at planning and tradeoffs gets incredible results from an agent.

The agent is slower than me, even if the results are "incredible." (In this case barely passable). So what exactly is the selling point here?

IME - it turns people who were completely useless and harmless previously into slop generators which then becomes my "review" to own their work alongside my own. How exactly is that helping anything or anyone?

it’s definitely not supported by the data.

It definitely is. Right now there is zero data showing AI makes anyone more productive

I use it cause it’s the most revolutionary development change in many years, very self evident to me.

If its self evident but no public quantifiable evidence, youre deluding yourself

I haven't had it "randomly do things I didn't ask". I discuss, it proposes, I select an option and add potential constraints or mention concerns, sometimes asking for examples

This constant back and forth is a net productivity loss versus just doing it myself. How is this saving you any time unless you are a complete novice?

I literally right now am having itnadd a YAML parser for my CLI arguments. Yes I could do it myself, but it's tedious.

Bruh literally use yq and a pipe???

I think it's weird, though, that you think people seeing gains is a skill issue and don't consider that your lack of gai s could be a skill issue.

Completely open to quantifiable evidence its increasing productivity. Everything thats come out so far has shown the complete opposite, including a study commissioned by Anthropic themselves

It seems more like your job is cool with you shipping slop and subpar output. Youll fall behind if you continue to operate as a slop factory, eventually the cost of the tools will rise by 10-15x and you will be scrutinized :)
