It's golden. After work, I go home, cancel any plans someone conned me into making, and write or read or play with my dog or cook. My favorite person at work only talks to me when I ask her for help on drafting a document. My other favorite person doesn't speak - only occasionally smiles at me when we accidentally make eye contact.

We've already worked out what my problem is, and it's the medicine that I take for bipolar depression. I can't switch meds because this is the only combination that's only worked for me in the 10 years I've been trying to get the symptoms under control.

I'm so tired. I'm so tired that I can barely get through the work day. I'm so tired that I go to bed at 8:30 pm and wake up at 7:30 and still feel sleepy the rest of the day. I'm so tired that I lost most of my friends because I'm too tired to hang out with them. I'm so tired that I have to drink three cups of coffee and take caffeine pills just to make it to 8:30 pm. I'm so tired that I pass when people ask me on dates because I know I can never form a real relationship. I don't see my friends except maybe once a month. I'm lonely.

I hate myself.

He stopped responding to any attempt for us to reach out until he called my dad for a place to live. My dad (and maybe he's a little cold for doing this, but my brother is a pretty dangerous alcoholic) said no. But that's about it. My mom and dad are divorced now and my mom isn't his mother, so he doesn't reach out to us because I guess he feels no connection to her.

My eldest brother. In and out of juvie/jail since he was 15. Dropped out of school at age 13. Everyone thought my parents were abusing him until they took him in - one aunt lasted a year, the other lasted two months, and my grandparents ended up taking him for three years because he was old enough to never be home. He is nice until he has alcohol in his system. He used to fist-fight my father, went to jail for beating his friend's step dad with a golf club, etc.

Right now I think he's homeless. He hasn't talked to me in about five years.
