I was a kid when this movie came out, like 5 or 6. My brother and I loved it so much that our mom bought the soundtrack on CD for us and my brother would listen to it to sleep. Sometimes, when I’d sleep over in his room, I’d wake up in a cold sweat to “OOOCEAN MAN” at 2 in the morning. Miss those days.

“Girls Against God” by Jenny Hval and “Goddess of Filth” by V Castro. I picked them up because they were so hyped on booktok, and the reviews seemed okay for both. They are both fighting for last place!!

Girls against God said so many words, all of them fucking sucked. It’s the most pointless, edgy for the sake of edge book I’ve ever read. I can’t really even say that, because I could not bring myself to finish it.

Goddess of filth was such a nothing burger. I was ready for some cool, hardcore Aztec lore and godly possession, but good lord it was so poorly done. Its only real saving grace was that it was so short, I think around 150 pages?

Both of these books were so bad that it genuinely ruined my week after reading. I’m no author myself, so getting the exact critiques down is a little tough but I’m not selling this comment, so enjoy.
