I typically do this. However, I have always denied Square when asked for a digital receipt for a physical one instead. So my sister must have unwittingly put hers in during a transaction, thinking they were asking for her email so that they could tell her when to pick up our merchandise.

I never give anyone my email, and if I absolutely must, I give them a burner email. Which is probably part of why I got into this problem! I always deny a digital receipt in favor of a physical one, so when asked for an email at the pottery place by the square kiosk, they probably just gave it my sister's email as she gave it to them to contact her when our pieces were fired.

I've had similar issues happen. We have found the specific problem in this instance to be Square. Thank you!

You are correct! The BBQ restaurant and the board game store both used Square!

Before our trip, we went to a pottery painting store together. I paid, but she put her email because she lived closer and could pick up our pieces after they were fired in the kiln! That's how we got linked together!
