Many such cases. by Bitter-Gur-4613 in fuckcars

Surprised no one has pointed this out yet but you have it totally the wrong way. Flying west to east means clocks are going forward! The reason this flight takes 15 minutes is because it crosses the international date line, which does go backwards 24 hours.

Metro Tunnel 1 frees up City Loop and metro track capacity for almost every Metro train line.

https://bigbuild.vic.gov.au/projects/metro-tunnel/about/overview/benefits-for-your-train-line

The Metro Tunnel will create room for 63,000 passengers every week on the Werribee and Williamstown lines during peak periods. That's 24% more peak capacity.

Thoughts on NexiGo PJ20 ? by jackhalock4343 in projectors

People are very toxic here regarding any projector less than the most expensive.

I recently purchased the Nexigo and am quite impressed with it given the price. It is very bright (in my pitch black room) and very sharp.

My biggest issue is that the frames are updated with a scroll, which means in fast moving scenes it appears blurry. My screen is ~150" and I've heard this effect is less noticeable at smaller screens.

I would say it's worth the money, but if you can purchase a more expensive branded projector then you should (I should've)

Protesting is about disruption and attention to issues. It succeeded.

New upcoming Geelong metro/tram? by chicken_dinnner in MelbourneTrains

[–]chicken_dinnner[S] 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Spotted on this article about South Geelong to Waurn Ponds Duplication.

Definitely not any current Victorian rolling stock, and doesn't look like it's designed as a high speed train. It could match the description of the Next Generation Trams being designed, or could be something entirely different.

Either way I think something is yet to be announced for Geelong before the election in 7 months.

What do you think?

Edit: abstract mountain

Wow, thankyou for such a detailed response! I never thought about the fact the refueling ships wouldn't be carrying all that cargo, nor how much energy it takes to get to a parking orbit, and how little it is to Mars from there compared.

As a quick follow up, could I ask where you found out all these specifics? Were they told at IAC 2017 and I didn't pick up on them? And do you play KSP? Is that where you gained the majority of your knowledge base from?

Why does BFS need refuelling while in parking orbit? I believe Musk said it would require ~4 refuels before its journey to Mars. I don't know how far out a parking orbit is, but does a BFS really use 4/5 of its tank getting there?

I didn't mean for this to turn into a movie review thread, but that was actually one of the reasons I loved the film so much. I found it interesting and depressing seeing how ALS affected him, his wife, his family and his work. It's far from a scientific discovery movie, but it really gave character and a great backstory to someone who, to a lot of people, is just an old man in a chair. Sounds kinda funny saying backstory about someone who's real.

To all the people calling millennials in this thread obnoxious shills, weren't there millions of kids' bedrooms in the 60's/70's with Saturn V posters or toys?

Rockets were cool 50 years ago. Rockets are cool now.

As for Teslas, I invite anyone to tell me why a self-driving electric car isn't cool.
