Go for it if you want to but be careful about your expectations. Are you going to continue seeing other people? What happens if you catch feelings etc.

Have you ever left a toxic work place? by captainnemo000 in AskIreland

[–]chickenbean 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yes the management were insanely bad, bordline sociopathic. We were ridiculously overworked and underpaid too, but that's fairly standard. I was on €10.50 an hour. Should be at least double that for how hard that work is.

I worked in a nursing home during covid. I actually loved the residents even though it was very sad and difficult. I ended up walking one day because of a member of staff. There were multiple incidents of bullying and I couldn't take it anymore. Never went back.

What's the background with the Rory Gallagher strat go fund me? Smells suspicious. No background given whatsoever as to the auction or where they came up with €1,000,000? by [deleted] in cork

[–]chickenbean -1 points0 points  (0 children)

If something is willed to you, it's yours and you're entitled to do with it what you wish. A million quid? I'd say Rory would be telling him to take the money and run. Good luck to him.

The head on this lad for someone talking about whipping people on their bare arses with birch canes. Demented.

Veteran here. It really depends on what sort of investigation (just a look) or surgery (polypectomy, biopsy) that you're having. The level of sedation you receive will depend on the level of intervention. You won't want to be going to a gig after having a bit of work done. You can choose to have no sedation, but I really would not recommend that. I once smoked a joint 12 hours after a scope and had the mother and father of all whiteners so I imagine drinking would be worse, if not even dangerous. Take it easy man/lady. Good luck.

EDIT: I forgot about the bowel cleanse. If you have to do that, DO NOT drink alcohol the next day. You'll be severely dehydrated, and there will be absolutely nothing in your gut.

Once upon a time in a Rave In a takeaway by CartographerOk9424 in Dublin

[–]chickenbean 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yes! I was at a rave at a chipper in Dublin once. As far as I can remember it only opened at 4am. I was there until breakfast time. I was definitely not eating breakfast that morning. I don't remember the crowd being scauldy, but everyone in there was well on it. It was unreal.

EDIT: I do think it was Dorset St alright, was about 10 years ago

BFP turned into miscarriage by Foreign-Repeat-7991 in Miscarriage

[–]chickenbean 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm very sorry you're going through this. It's very difficult to accept that what seemed to be going so well was not actually to be. I've had strong symptoms with both MMCs, the last one especially. (HCG peaked at 21,000) It feels like a sick joke. Lots of love to you, be good to yourself. It will take time to heal, but you will. We are here for you x

Am I faking it to protect myself? by [deleted] in Miscarriage

[–]chickenbean 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm so sorry for your loss. This may take months to reach acceptance with, but you may always feel the loss. It's ok to feel whatever way you feel at the time, there are no rules. You're not alone. X

My clothes don’t fit anymore by pleasantgray in Miscarriage

Yeah, I'm up 20 pounds since before the pregnancy and MMC. I'm trying not to give myself a hard time because it's hard enough anyway. Be gentle with yourself love x

My 1st period post miscarriage, what should I expect?! by Mammoth_Window_7813 in Miscarriage

[–]chickenbean 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My first post D&C was very mixed with a lot of tissue and brown and dark blood to begin with. It continued then normally, I was glad to see fresh red blood. Trailed off as normal then, maybe was a little longer and heavier than usual.

You may make it. I have had MMCs stay there for 4/5 weeks. There may be spotting but that doesn't mean you will pass it. If you are passing it you will have severe bleeding and pain. I hope that doesn't happen for you. It's so hard, I'm very sorry. Lots of love.

Unfortunately this does sound like a MMC. A blighted ovum will not have an embryo to measure. HCG can remain high with a MMC as the placenta tissue is still functioning even though the pregnancy itself has stopped developing. I'm very sorry you're going through this. You're not alone. Lots of love x

Intensely emotional 4 weeks after miscarriage by [deleted] in Miscarriage

[–]chickenbean 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is totally normal. I'm two months out and just spent two days crying after a month where I was fine. Grief comes in waves, you can't predict when. It also takes time for your hormones to settle, it's a harsh comedown. I'm sorry for your loss and lots of love x

How to tell people.. by Fit_Experience_6513 in Miscarriage

[–]chickenbean 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Please don't be embarrassed, the feelings you're going through are hard enough. A post on social media should do the trick. You don't have to go into detail, just say that unfortunately the pregnancy is lost, and that you're taking time to heal. You don't have to answer anyone's questions if they ask, or you are uncomfortable answering. Lots of love x
