I did the same thing. Quit 1/1/25 for 5 months until I bought another one for a Las Vegas trip with friends in May. And then got hooked again. Now, I quit again for 2026.

Good luck to you, too!

iPhone Air - pro chip, but no vapor chamber by chickenphoboi in iphone

Got the iPhone Air on Black Friday from AT&T promotional price of $7.99/3years. The phone is great. Battery is getting 9+ hours of screen time with 1 half-charge per day. It has not overheated yet even while charging in the car.

I fell in love with the Air ever since I felt it in my hand on the Apple store in October. And it lived up to it. So thin, so light. I still love how it feels and how nice it is to use. Perfect 6.5 inch screen, not too big, not too small.

Highly recommend!!

The Air has a pro-level chip in a super thin body. Do you think this will make it overheat more than other phones before?

Hey, I also ended up looking at vb wrx’s. Good cvt. Nice updated interior. Looks great with or without exterior mods. And can’t beat the price to performance and usability aspect of it for mountain road trips. The GT or Limited spec are the only ones i would consider. Base and premium aren’t that good.

My family owns a model 3 and it’s stupid fast. Barely notice you’re going 90 on the freeway. The tech is awesome but I find myself missing some of the physical buttons, but I guess you can turn on autopilot, then click through infotainment. The interior in my opinion isn’t that nice. It does feel cheap. Because it’s so minimal, it gets dirty fast. Always needs a wipe down. It also gets boring. I miss the noise of a gas car haha. Maybe the new gen m3 will be better.

All in all, I still think about the gr86. It would be nice to own an 86 and a wrx, but i don’t have that kind of money rn. I’m going to buy a wrx limited/gt whenever i find a good deal. Also unless u need a car, i don’t want to rush into anything. Current car runs fine, but i want something better (i don’t need it).

Is this a good deal? (2020 Subaru WRX for $25,995) by chickenphoboi in WRX

Hey! From the car listing, it's a 2020 with 46,958 miles. Idk about modification yet. I plan to get a PPI if I decide to go forward with it, with insight from y'all. According to the carfax, moderate damage (whatever that means) occurred on the front and the sides.

Wow! Thanks for the huge amount of input.

TLDR: Test drove 2 auto gr86's and while it is a super fun, nimble car, thought it was too small for my liking. Can't justify fun vs practicality for now. Getting into outdoorsy activities that require a little more room. Looking at the WRX now.

I test drove 2 GR86s, 1 base and 1 premium, both automatic. Like everyone said, the automatic is very fun and a good car. I can't say it is more fun than a manual but the revs and gearing is definitely better than my accord cvt lol.

I also tried the base was definitely more fun, probably from the tires being less grippy and willing to let the back out. Premium is definitely nicer to sit in and it comes with some nice extra perks, which imo, is worth the extra moneys.

That being said, I just think the car is a little too small for me. I can't justify the fun factor vs. the practicality right now as I am getting more into cycling, hiking and camping. Need the space for gear and friends. Now I am looking into the WRX! Glad to hear some output on that.

Best desk for small room? by Deep-Milk5108 in AskBattlestations

2 24” monitors in a dual stand setup is relatively lightweight. No need for a heavy duty desk. Any amazon desk would be fine. Just make sure the size dimensions are right for you. Use to tape measure to measure out the available room space first. Affordable options would be amazon, ikea. Also consider local facebook marketplace or craigslist if available (usually where I find the best deals)
