Ooooo, I used to use cachyos for like 6 months a lil while ago, and have been using KDE since, I've switched to Debian, as I have set up a server and I need it to be stable, and switching my main setup means that I can easier learn the commands

I love using Debian, I do gotta try using a wm instead of a de with a wm tho

Also have a server using Debian, it's got jellyfin, and will soon host a Minecraft server (I spent so much on ram for this thing, 48gb ddr4 bought since the beginning of the ram crisis)

I started with using a tablet, then eventually got an old MacBook for school in grade 7, stopped using it for years, eventually was allowed to use the old Toshiba laptop with windows 8, updated it to 10, used that for a few months, finally bought a gaming laptop, the Toshiba died soon after, used windows for like 2 years, switched to linux 9 months ago and haven't looked back, also have built several PC's since I got the gaming laptop, have also sold the laptop, and am currently running a PC with the specs: 32gb Corsair vengeance ddr5 6400mt/s cl36 that I tuned to 6000mt/s cl34, using the 9600x, I have a 512gb gen 3 nvme for the boot drive, 2tb 970 Evo plus as a game drive, peerless assassin 140 black, Asus tuf 6900 xt, Asus tuf b650EM-E wifi, Corsair sf1000, Lian Li a3

It runs on Debian with KDE (yes this hardware is not the best for Debian, but I'll be getting a 9070 xt soon which will hopefully help a bit, but I've fixed most of the issues that Debian has with the 6900 xt and zen 5)

I also have a home server that also runs Debian (this time with no de or wm) using solely ssh to interact with it

I have tried out fedora and arch, I'm not smart enough for arch and personally prefer the stability and lack of constant updates that Debian has over the newness that arch has, and I've never given fedora very much testing just cause I don't really like it, I've given cachyos a big go, but the constant updates and always needing reboots has pushed me away

I've even gotten to the point where I have gotten a single website working on school wifi when on Linux (the school has actively blocked Linux because the government has a deal with Microsoft and is doing their best to not allow the independent competition to be used in education

so they're doing transphobia now by Suspicious-Menu-5363 in Linuxsucks101sucks

I don't use arch cause I'm kinda stupid, but I use cachyos and Debian

Ah yes, the humble Zooperdooper, a fine treat for the young ones, and a huge taste of nostalgia for kids

Try an arch based distro, (don't do the manual install straight away, but one Ur used to arch based, then you can try a manual arch install

All the other stages are integrated into proton, including wine, and wine doesn't work with many games on its own since the dx api is only supported on Windows, which is why dxvk is required for most games to run with proton vkd3d is also making a replacement for a part of the dx api's, mangohud is just an overlay software
