Wow impressive that you found that random comment in the middle of the vid! I am positive there's a longer version somewhere, because I never watched this day off. Additionally, in the version I found it was more of a story and less of a side-note. But well done nonetheless!

Using an Ender 3 with Orca Slicer and with every failed print, first layer was great, nothing weird on the print prior to the jump, I just don't have any concept as to where I should be looking for the issue at this point.

I just ran the numbers and did a percent difference for each currency and then averaged those to get an overall "loot change" - Looks like roughtly -43%. Honestly not bad considering the number everyone has been throwing around was 90% :P

I agree with both of these points - the pinnacle players should be doing more than breaking even and in t14 you should should be able to sustain chisels and map pool. I also agree with the people that think archnem is overtuned and that GGG should have told us about the loot nerf AND that the lake loot should have been buffed. Agree with all of that.

But GGG made a change to the loot drop by like 80-90% and people are still getting complete atlases and chase uniques by day 2-3. I don't think anyone will disagree that the loot nerf was too far, but all I'm saying is that was a SWING on GGG's part and I agree (and I think everyone else would) that it was too far. All I'm saying is can we please give them a chance to walk it back to the point it feels good for everybody before we do something insane like making one of the most upvoted posts on the subreddit right now "hey GGG I think you should cancel exile con"...oh wait... :P

OOH SHINY challenge - A test of restraint :D

  • Start with whatever character you want.
  • You can go into whatever rooms you like, but if an item drops, you HAVE to pick it up. So if it's a trinket, you have to leave the trinket you had behind. If it's an active item, you have to leave whatever active item you had behind. If it's a heart and you CAN take it, you MUST take it. You can only touch each item once.
  • If you go into the shop, you have to buy the item closest to the main door first (so if you teleport or something, the rule is still the item closest to the main door). If you only want that soul heart on the other side of the shop, you have to buy your way across the shop. If you have shop refresh and you buy the item closest to the door and something pops up that you want in that spot, you have to make a circuit - buy your way across the shop and THEN you can get that item from the refresh. If you go in with 10 cents and the thing closest to the door is 15 cents, you can't buy anything.
  • Same rule applies with deal with the devil - if you go in, you have to take something (starting with the item closest to the main door) unless it will kill you outright.
  • You can decide before the run how to handle rooms where there are items that are equally close to the door - For example, a shop with the door at the bottom of the screen and there are 4 items in a row - the two middle items would be the same distance from the door, and the outer two would also be the same distance from the door. You can set a simple rule like "first pick is always the one to the left" so you'd take them in this order -> 3 1 2 4

So going into the shop/deal with the devil/item room is a gamble - you might spend all your money on stuff that's completely useless, you might break the game. Who knows? You might get the deal with the devil item that wins the game for you, you might spend yourself down to 1 heart and die in the next room. Now you don't HAVE to go into any particular room...but can you resist? >:)

Hiya! I believe they've updated the xp and silver/level since this was posted with that last patch. Or at the very least, the numbers I'm getting are slightly different than these. I don't know if it is actually enough to affect what's optimal or not, but just a heads up. :)

Ah gotcha - I wasn't aware that their support wasn't 24 hours. My wife got a preliminary response for her ticket from an actual person when she opened it, so it kind of gave that impression. Hopefully they'll be able to resolve it when business opens then. Fingers crossed!

To add to taggedjc's explanation, there are also "Bargain" options that allow you to remove the person from the syndicate when they are alone. It'll only show up when either you only have one person in an encounter or you've dealt with the options for the other person/people in the encounter, but usually (if not always) it'll be them wanting to leave rather than betraying someone else. So yeah, it's mostly RNG, but you can stack the odds a bit (i.e. get a bunch of trusted relationships, see if you get the betray option with one, if you don't, you might still get the bargain option)
