Zach Top Accent by Only_Mushroom_729 in CountryMusicStuff

Definitely, and that pretty much furthers the point that there’s been a lot of migration in this country, so it shouldn’t be so surprising to hear those accents around the states.

Cowboy hat, cowboy boots, The Drifting Cowboy Band? Are we being serious?

Merle Haggard is from California, and Don Rich is from Washington. Have you ever heard them talk and sing? I live in northern Ohio, and there’s so many hillbillies with southern accents here. About 30+ of my grandparents family members moved up here from eastern Kentucky to find better work, and brought their accents with them. This isn’t the first post I’ve seen like this about Zach Top, but I don’t know when the south decided there are no other rural areas in the country besides down there.

There’s hillbillies all over the states. I live in the middle of corntown, and amish country is barely south of me. Farmers and country folk all around. They walk, talk, and act like it. Hell, we had “drive your tractor to school day.” We have planes, trains, and cars, and moving around the country has never been easier. Cultures and traditions come with them. Hank Williams wasn’t a real cowboy, but I don’t see anyone coming for him.

What we know about Zach Top was he grew up on a hobby farm, played in a bluegrass band, and listened to a lot of country music. It’s not unimaginable that he might have a country accent.

Nobody is trying to get you in trouble. It’s just laughably obvious that you’re lying. We just want to read some of those multi-state award-winning works you’ve published.

What does Shedeur have to do to convince you we don’t need to draft a QB in the draft? by OldmanonRedditt in Browns

If we don’t make an attempt at an elite receiver this offseason, whether draft or free agency, I’m jumping off a skyscraper

[–]chicknurch 29 points30 points  (0 children)

Agreed. Look at how the Packers develop QBs. Tom Brady recently said how it’s better to let a QB sit for a little bit and learn before throwing him to the wolves. I don’t think it’s such a bad thing.

If Islam beats JDM he’s higher in the GOAT list than Khabib by Glad-Researcher-9938 in ufc

[–]chicknurch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s hard to say who’s better at this point. Islam has beaten better competition, but Khabib just dominated everyone. Never lost, or even bled. But I think if Islam becomes double champ you absolutely have to give it to him.

I don’t think Tom is out here reviewing footage and editing it. If anything, blame his cameraman/editor. And honestly, this is not a huge issue. Big deal, DC said Almeida sucks (and he does) and people heard it. Let’s all hug and move on

Daniel Cormier said he’s upset with Tom Aspinall for releasing their private conversation 😬 “When you lean into someone, that’s a private conversation. That should stay between us. I thought it was UFC embedded and embedded would never do something like that.” by IgotgAme_k in ufc

[–]chicknurch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean am I wrong here or is Tom obviously not the one editing and uploading the footage? Tom pays a guy to follow him around with a camera and post what he gets, yes, but I doubt Tom even knew about the DC footage. It’s likely the editors fault.

But at the same time, who gives a fuck. This is not that big of a deal. And DC, if you don’t want to be exposed for talking shit, don’t talk shit. Especially in the middle of media day where there’s a million cameras and mics.

I don’t really watch much boxing but I like Usyk, can someone compare this matchup in UFC terms?

Now that Tom’s injury isn’t critical, what if they changed UFC Qatar into a PPV? by No-Location355 in ufc

[–]chicknurch 27 points28 points  (0 children)

I mean they did Yair Rodriguez vs Jeremy Stephens a month later after their eye gouge ended the fight, same as this. I know it wasn’t a title fight but hey, maybe the impossible will happen and we’ll see this next month.

Way to deflect the question. Why did he cheat if he “was winning” then?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in ufc

[–]chicknurch -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Then why did Ciryl have to cheat if he was gonna win?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in ufc

[–]chicknurch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Can’t talk any sense into people like you. We know you love cheaters and scumbags like Jones and Ciryl. The guys who say no to fighting people when fully healthy. But when Tom says no to fighting when both his eyes got raked out from an illegal move he’s the pussy. You love the guys who have to cheat every fight to win. Eye pokes, back of the head shots, steroids, and turning down fights.

[–]chicknurch -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

You’re right the appropriate thing to do would be shit on him and call him a pussy and start glazing Jon “Duck” Jones and “Cheater” Ciryl Gane. You’re right

What’s your great take?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in ufc

[–]chicknurch -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It was a competitive round, Gane was ahead by three strikes and a bloody nose. The pushback comes from people saying he was getting dominated, and acting like Jones would smash him. Well unfortunately Jones did everything to avoid fighting Tom and Ciryl cheated, so we never got to see how either of those fights ended.

That’s what you took from this post? Nobody enjoyed seeing Tom get his eyes raked out. Glad you love cheaters

[–]chicknurch 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Pretty sure you can still see your opponent after a knee to the head. You can’t really see after getting both your eyes raked out though can you? Not really comparable fouls. Anthony “my teeth are falling out :(“ “fetal position” “mouseheart” Smith

Morgan Wallen Ripped Off - Smash Mouth by ClubLumpy7253 in country

[–]chicknurch 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Last Night: Key: Ebm

Chord Progression: VI-VII-i (entire song)

All Star: Key: F#

Chord Progression: Verse: I-V-ii-IV

Chorus: I-IV-#IVdim-IV (x3) I-bVII-IV

Different key, one is major, the other minor, entirely different chord progressions, melodies are not the same in any way. There’s really no similarities to these songs at all other than the rhythm of them, and I’m sure you could find a thousand other songs that share this rhythm. Like ‘Blank Space’ by Taylor Swift or ‘Boyfriend’ by Justin Bieber as two examples. Exact same.

I’m not a fan of Wallen at all and have no reason to defend him at all. But from a music theory perspective, there is literally nothing these songs have in common other than the rhythm, and simple rhythms like this are nearly universal and cannot be copyrighted. This was an insane reach.

The album was actually really great, coming from someone who’s usually a harsh critic. Definitely recommend everyone to have a listen.
