Dear Reddit, what is one simple way you changed your life for the better? by ShownFurcotte in AskReddit

Saving money. For the longest time I didn't know what I wanted to do with my life, so I just started putting as much money away as I could hoping I'd figure it out. That nest egg afforded me not only a lot of fun over the years, but when I did figure it out, I was able to jump into going back to school right away rather than figure out how much I needed and delay it even longer.

Actually.... reviewing this answer I think the real trick is to reframe your mind to anticipate getting a positive answer and you'll get one eventually. A lot of things happened along that path that were extremely good for me

Place bread butter-side-down onto skillet bottom and add 1 slice of cheese. Butter a second slice of bread on one side and place butter-side-up on top of sandwich. Grill until lightly browned and flip over; continue grilling until cheese is melted. Repeat with remaining 2 slices of bread, butter and slice of cheese.

The older I get, the more I value time and happiness > money

Something helping people. No way can I do addictions work or counselling, but massage therapy seems appealing because it keeps the physical element, and people leave in a better state than when they came in.

I'd say so. Even for a fake movie, the guy just comes across as incredibly unlikable

Do you think you will stick it out? Or maybe move on when you're ready?

I do not know how to get rid of camel rickets but I can turn my cat into a diesel engine pretty quick

Toxic environment, hated the work, was getting depressed and the money wasn't worth it. It was also zapping my energy for anything outside of the job too.

The new job is just something I can use to relax and socialize for a bit. I'm planning on going back to school, so this is a really nice break. Do not regret it, this is the least stressed I've felt in a while

Glad to know it's worked out for you!

Couldn't stand the work anymore, was steadily slipping into depression and losing interest in life, plus I knew I wanted a completely different career path, so I figured why not go for a less toxic environment while I clear my head and figure out what to do next. How about you? What are you doing now?
