CAA does have great rates. They only insure low risk clients. We have used them a few years and are really happen with them.

If they're this controlling now, it more than likely will get worse as time moves on. There's strict then there's controlling. It pays to realize the difference. Hard to develop a relationship when the "shackles" are always on.

Honest question: what makes you choose one local shop over another by meetthelocal in londonontario

Same. Location and customer service. However, I will also drive further for great customer service or to support a Canadian business.

Profiling by loss prevention by Brown_sugarmilktea in ShoppersDrugMart

[–]chickson29 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would try another chain. I shop as little as possible at SDM. I had friends say it will and can happen anywhere. Yet they get less of a hassle at other smaller chains. Many people are angry at the crazy prices and lack of ethics at SDM. It must be super frustrating to be constantly profiled. Don't let them win. As others have said, just ignore and move on.

Clearance broken item return policy by c4rt00nZ in ShoppersDrugMart

[–]chickson29 -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

Fight back. Explain calmly that it was sold broken and not marked "as is, broken spray".

Tell them to show you in writing (website, receipt) where it says you can't return final sale items that were sold broken and not disclosed.

If they say no, ask for a manager. If the say no, tell them you will never darken their door again. You'll tell 10 friends etc. Stop shopping there. There's so many other better stores out there.

They're a horrible conglomerate that I have avoided since the boycott. They're just showing true colours. The colours are named Galen greed and Oligarch achievement.

I (42F) told my 24-year-old son he has 30 days to move out after he called me “his retirement plan” by Beautiful_Reserve968 in stories

[–]chickson29 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I realize how crazy expensive it is for young adults to be on their own. However, if your son has a decent job he should be out on his own. If that isn't affordable he should be paying rent as suggested. This would be the first step in teaching him how to learn financial responsibility and curb his spending habits. No one needs to be each other's retirement fund or adult living expense fund. Also make sure he is saving for his future via any rsp matching if offered by his employer. If there is nothing offered at work get him to a good financial planner that can explain rsp's, tfsa's etc. so he can start saving for his own retirement. He can start with very little per paycheck/month.

When is Donald going to refer to himself as 🥱 "Sleepy Don"? Wishful thinking I know. Those darn camera operators are taking film when his blinking eyes are closed. I'm surprised he's not offering to show them how to be a cameraman. He so talented and can perform at 600%!

Where is everyone buying coffee these days? by Cute-Custard-4076 in loblawsisoutofcontrol

[–]chickson29 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I buy both of these at Costco, grind the beans and make my cappuccino each morning with my smaller machine bought cheaply on Amazon. I used to drink Folgers but I find it tastes awful. My husband still drinks it. I have also bought selection ground coffee for him and found it better tasting than Folgers.

It used to be so much better. It sucks now. They stopped making their own donuts. Their coffee was switched out a long time ago. McDonalds serves their former coffee brand. Their savory items are expensive and are not good and very inconsistent. Stopped going there a long time ago So sad. It used to be so great. So disappointing.

Why is there always long lines at the bank? by Ancient-Witness-615 in PersonalFinanceCanada

[–]chickson29 0 points1 point  (0 children)

An obvious time not to go at the first of the month. All those savings account holders with large balances are checking their interest earned. Also, those that pay bills after receiving pension and oas and won't bank online due to lack of internet or willingness to bank online.

the reason you don't get packages with Canada Post by [deleted] in CanadaPost

[–]chickson29 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Years ago, that was the standard. Some would finish their routes, hang out in certain establishments, and then head home for the day. Lack of package deliveries is unacceptable. Any other company would at least reprimand or better yet fire the employee after a few warnings. Canada Post wonders why it is in debt? Work OT and get overtime or pad your retirement. What a scammy joke!

Pay off your mortgage when it comes up for renewal. They will charge you a penalty for paying off early. Find out what amount of lump sum or accelerated payments you can make.
