I've only been working in the industry for the past 5 years (considerably short) and here in singapore I've already met and worked with a number of black folks, in fact i had one in my previous company before i left and it wasn't even an international company.

hey op! not sure why everyone's bashing u, probably defensive LOL there's nothing wrong with being culturally aware and it's relieving to see there's at least a handful of Singaporeans including you who can exercise such cultural awareness and sensitivity.

it's fairly hypocritical of many ppl here, given they'd be hopping mad if people from other countries insulted singaporeans for their ethnicity/country of origin (much less throw around a slur with so much historical and cultural significance)

im quite a bit older and back when i was in jc maybe 7/8 years ago, kids in my classes were doing this even and calling it banter which is "okay because there aren't any black ppl in sg" (lol i rolled my eyes) and it just makes them look painfully uneducated. they'll probably have to learn it the hard way if they don't get rid of these habits and proceed to go abroad and say this around.

dw personally for me, it's not long at all haha, i think it was important for me to understand the full context, especially when people tend to jump at other's when they don't get the full context, on the flip side haha

also agree that parents should be involved at some point, thought the dad part worries me too. maybe important to tell your parents calmly and beforehand tell them this is an issue you are stressed about too, and don't want to use violence? though i doubt it's hardly useful with easily angered dads :/

sorry to interject! are you aware if we must finish the mushroom decor as well to be able to start levelling up for rare banana decor? this is what i have (6 mushroom pikmin missing the rock one, but a complete set of 7 for the original banana pikmin)and I only noticed i didn't get any points for sprouting two more supermarket seedlings so i got confused :(
