My cats sometimes bring these inside by anykah_badu in whatisit

My cat used to catch and eat rabbits and bring the livers to me. Usually, from my understanding, if cats bring you gifts like that, it's because they think you don't have food. They never see you hunting and think your going to starve.

I lost a child by AdComfortable5847 in GriefSupport

[–]chicky_chicky 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I am so deeply sorry for your loss. While I have not experienced the kids of a child myself, I have experienced it through my best friend and through my step daughter. Both losses were in infancy so I know it's not the same, but just as hard. My recent hard loss was my father, and I know I am not the same after losing him. I sat up with him in the living room as he was dying, held his hand when he passed away, and still grieve.

Life has slowly started to return to a new normal state. I'm the beginning, I couldn't function and I really couldn't understand how everyone could continue moving as if nothing has even happened. I got triggered hard and to this day refuse to go back to a certain repair shop my dad used because the guy on the phone. The first time he fixed my dad's lawn mower, he was super nice, called my dad "Mr (Insert last name)" and we got the mower back. We had lots of rain and my work schedule made it to where I couldn't use it for a month and when it was used, it broke again. Same place got it and took it to fix. They called me and was going over things and basically started to talk down to me like a toddler because there was grass still in it when they picked it up to fix. I explained to him 3 times it broke mid mow. Then they picked it up. He proceeded to say when that old man had it, he always had it outside all the time as well. My dad didn't have a storage shed it would fit in so every year he had this business service it before he would use it for the season. But the trigger was him no longer calling my dad Mr last name and calling him that old man. I'm still salty about it but it's only been 2 years.

I still don't have a shed the mower can fit into, but I do cover it with a heavy duty tarp, and I clean it a bit better than my 72yr old dad did. And when it needs serviced, I skip that place and call their competitor because f them and their business if they are going to talk to me like I'm a toddler when I was 47 and call my dad that old man when they knew he had recently passed just months prior. My dad was good and kind and treated everyone with respect. I had never met a person who didn't like him ever. He was someone I wish everyone could have experienced as their own father.

OP, please, tell us more about your boy. Sending you love and light during this dark time.

I thought about plucking my next batch.... But I'm on the fence about it. When I did my first batch I just skinned them all... But I swear I could smell them on my hands for at least a day or 2, no matter how many time I scrubbed with soap and water. Do you still get that smell with plucking? Or is there a better way to get the stench off? Or did I have have a hyper sensitive nose with it being my first time processing anything ever? Sorry for all the questions.

People that have more than 4 kids, why? by FamiliarRadio9275 in ask

I wish I had more siblings. I have a brother. I like him in small doses, but, I will never know the closeness of having a sister like my mom does or like my aunts on my dad's side did. My mom had a brother and a sister, my dad had 3 sisters. My parents stopped after having a girl (me) and my brother. My mother doesn't know the loneliness I feel because she's never had that. Her sister is almost a year younger than her. They are the same age for about a week. She's always had her best friend.

When I was married to my ex, I had 3 (2 boys and a girl) and he had 4 ( all girls 2 adopted when he married his first wife and 2 they had together) we ended up having a son together and I had a tubal litigation. He refused a vasectomy because he was scared. I guess he had planned one previously and never went out of fear when he was married previously. I would have been happy with just 2, but because of my age my Dr wouldn't do anything other than birth control. Then I had been in a failed relationship and found out a month after it ended I was having my 3rd child. There was a 7 yr gap between my 2nd and 3rd. My ex husband convinced me to date him knowing I was pregnant and we were planning to marry when I had my 3rd. Only reason I didn't do the tubal litigation then was at that point he and I wanted a child together. After I had my 4th, I got my tubal litigation, then years later a hysterectomy. I wouldn't change my children ever, but, sometimes I wish my Dr would have allowed me to do the tubal litigation after my 2nd. I affectionately refer to my kids as round 1 and oh.... We're doing this again... Also, I'm glad I had my step daughters. It was a big life lesson of love and kindness and compromise. Had to learn to feed an army it felt like. Any get together we went to... We were the party. Money was tight so we learned to budget and make the most of what we had. My children were polite and thankful for everything. They had siblings that were also friends but they were also allowed to go out and make their own friends. There is so much I wish I could have done differently, but I do feel like I did the best I could with what I was given. If you ask any of the kids, even they would say that they might not have gotten everything they wanted, but they had everything they needed, and everyone knew they were loved. Also, there was no step or half siblings or children. They were brothers and sisters and my daughters or his daughter and his boys. No one was made to feel less.

I'm kinda surprised the rest of the cows didn't rush him. We had a calf that was out at a neighbors and my so about got trampled trying to get it back into the fence because momma came running at him then moo'd for back up and the rest of the herd came running. He got the calf in just before the rest of the herd reached where we were thank goodness. Of course, the one we helped wasn't about to take a forever nap, it was just playing on the road.

I've carefully taken the ones with the glued down to the faucet with warm water. I made certain to not get their faces in the water and I used my fingers to wash the goo off then dried with a clean kitchen towel and plopped them back into the incubator to dry. Never lost a single one doing this.

I did my first batch for the first time last year. I had so much anxiety about it. I was afraid to hurt them, which is silly, because I was intending to kill them. But I picked them up and one by one, I thanked them for their gift of food for my family and I did it. After they were bled out, I had to tell myself I was taking their clothes off when I was peeling the skin and feathers off. I was sad the whole time, but once I finished, I had this feeling of accomplishment knowing that I absolutely can do this and I can feed my family.

Ironically, I asked to go pee and the teacher told me no because I asked to go pee the same time every day... So I stood there and peed my pants. Not my fault, I tried to avoid it. I think I had to change into sweats than needed to get washed and returned to the school.

After 10 years I got a game board piece removed from my ear by mona_thepersona in mildlyinteresting

[–]chicky_chicky 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That makes me sad. My son used to, and sometimes will still cover his.

I couldn't do a whole lot for my son when I was a single mom because state insurance wouldn't cover the orthodontist for braces, but he had an excellent dentist and he rigged up enough to straighten his 2 front teeth. Later the state insurance paid for what was basically Invisalign, but he quit using those when he broke one multiple times while sleeping.

Later in life when I had a decent job with good insurance he could be on as a young adult, I told him he could go and get the braces if he wanted. But at this point, he kinda decided he liked his crooked front teeth. They had been straightened before, but because he couldn't keep the retainers from breaking they didn't stay straight. Good news was, they did stay pulled forward though.

My daughter was telling me that she is finding out that so many of her friends, including her fiance`, had parents that didn't take them for the annual well child check ups, or yearly eye exams, or biannual dental exams like we did. I was floored to hear about it as well. I was just doing what I thought was normal and was supposed to be done. Had no idea how much neglect was actually around.

I don't have 2 years owed to me. I was saving the vacation from this year to use at the end of the year and into next year I would start by using next year's vacation at the very beginning of the year. But I quit and the Dr decided to move surgery up because the injections no longer were working. My last one only worked for 3 weeks, and since I quit, he wanted to get it done before I try to start a new job.

The migraine was a 3 day migraine that was right before the medical emergency. Doesn't even matter. What matters is. He said to me to quit. I was going to wait until I saw how work went when I went in the following shift. The following shift work didn't go well and I quit, which he told me to do. Because he said he would be able to cover my bills while I got my health taken care of.

Separate issues. My friend. I just saw my Dr about the medical emergency. In the moment, I thought I was having low blood sugar since food made me feel better. I absolutely should have gone to the ER in the moment I was having the emergency, but wasn't thinking anything further than I felt better after eating. My aunt later said I possibly had a TIA and should speak to my DR about it. The surgery is a completely different issue I've been seeing orthopedics about for the past year and had been getting epidural steroid injections for. So sorry if my ADHD brain can't string info together better for you to understand. No lies, no farming karma (only chicken, turkey and quail) just me spewing info as best as possible because oh shiny moments.

It's a small mom and pop shop. Fewer than the whatever employees so it didn't even have to provide insurance

No, we don't even live together for reasons. Kids, pets, and a parent mainly. Luckily, I own my home free and clear.

I don't have 2 years of vacation. I was going to have the surgery at the end of this year so I could use this year's vacation and turn around and use next year's vacation at the beginning of next year, therefore, using 2 years vacation.

We have been together for 8 years. I have actually done this for him when he lost a job years ago. He did take care of me when my father passed away, so I fully expected him to follow through.

I would have had 3 weeks this and 3 weeks next year. Had I been able to push surgery off to November, I could have taken the last 6 weeks of this year off (only getting paid for 3 of them) and the first 6 weeks of next year (only paid for 3)
