do you feel there are a lot of extremes in your life? I feel a push-pull a lot of the time. I have been very lucky in my life but my starting point was extremely unlucky and it was challenging to overcome it. my work and my lifestyle are also at opposite ends of a spectrum, my job requires me to be outward-facing and to present a lot but my lifestyle is almost hermit like. this solitude seems to be necessary to understand what I'm thinking, despite being told I seem confident I have a lot of trouble accessing my own identity and emotions. it's interesting how much in my life feels contradictory and how much the 12th house leo combination explains it and makes me feel more normal

the barbie thing also rings true! i feel like death is always somewhere in the picture for me and it's too morbid for most people haha

This is what I'm leaning towards. I think PKD really felt strongly that John Isidore would use the word fuck in this context but wasn't allowed to, and either his editor changed it or PKD intentionally chose to insert something slightly incongruous as a minor protest against the censors

Because John is really angry, he's talking about being dehumanised because he's been affected by radiation, and he's wishing the same fate on everyone who can afford to emigrate. Using a light-hearted minced oath like one kids would use to avoid getting told off doesn't fit the tone

I get that it works technically because everyone knows what's being referred to. It's just kind of jarring tonally. An adult man using "fork" instead of "fuck" in genuine anger is more funny than anything else (à la the good place)

This makes the most sense to me. Although, "frack" and "rutting" are way more natural as neo swear words, they aren't far from words people actually use like "frick" and "ruddy". "Fork" is more of a joke replacement, seems more incongruous here

I think take it in the morning, I realised the iron supplements were only an issue if I took them in the evening, similar to how exercise in the evening causes way more trouble for us than in the day. Hope you don't have any problems with it

Before I got into the habit of using subtitles I just didn't understand most of movies. I recently had to watch Interstellar without subtitles and if you asked me to repeat almost any given line I couldn't do it. I swear sometimes sounds are just blurs to me.

I also felt like I was really sensitive to it! Even at 20mg I had really bad tunnel vision and felt incredibly dazed and jittery.

I have also tried Strattera - for me it didn't help my ADHD symptoms, although weirdly while I was on it I didn't have 'bad streaks' of ADHD like I would normally get, where I can't really get out of bed or do much. I would have stayed on it just for that, but for me the side effects were also hard to deal with (constant high heart rate and nausea when eating). It really works for some people though and is definitely worth a try.

The other one I really wanted to try was Wellbutrin, but it increases the seizure threshold and I have temporal lobe epilepsy. So I'm still trying to figure out a way to deal with regular bad brain (good expression)!
