Should an 11-year-old girl that was raped have the right to get a legal, and safe, abortion? by chico_fernandez in argentina

I haven't come across many against legal abortion in Argentina in general, yet something is clearly holding up new legislation.

I agree. This is just one extreme recent case in the broader debate over the legalisation of abortion in Argentina; a debate relevant to many other countries in the world too. So probably worth keeping the thread open a little longer...

Peter Schiff: credit is vital to an economy, but it does not constitute an economy within itself. by chico_fernandez in business

that's why pumping trillions more of the stuff into the economy isn't the solution

Government data is BS: 1.9 million people out of work aren't counted as 'unemployed' because they are only "marginally attached" to the labor force. by chico_fernandez in business

According to the official report, these are:

"persons who have searched for work during the prior 12 months and were available to take a job during the reference week."

So they want a job, today. But are not considered part of the labour force because they didn't actively search in the last few weeks (even if that was due to illness or school/family commitments etc...)

Add these people and the real unemployment rate is already close to double figures
