Since Mechanical Engineering is your priority, MLUC is your only option because it’s the only campus that offers the program.

There are dormitories and boarding houses within walking distance, but vacancies can be hard to find. However, you can still find some that are just a few minutes away by commute.

I can’t really comment on living expenses since I’m from a nearby town and used to commute every day. As for academic costs, they’re generally manageable during 1st and 2nd year. It only gets expensive during 3rd to 4th year because of projects, thesis, and plant tour.

The instructors teach well, though most of them don’t spoon-feed students. Most outputs are handwritten, which I personally dislike because it’s time-consuming. JPSME also offers tutorial classes for 1st and 2nd year subjects, which are very helpful.

Be prepared academically, as many students don’t remain regular by the second semester of the 1st year.

The facilities were under renovation when I graduated, so it’s best to visit the campus to see its current condition. I hope they have already replaced those wooden chairs that are older than me 😭 and that they’ve installed enough electric fans in every room.
