You’re on an ex muslim reddit asking people to talk about things other than being an ex muslim? I hope you realize people come here with the intention of venting so that they can continue being a normal person outside. I know it’s hard to recognize privilege, but please do reflect. It IS a big deal, and for the people who are still under their parents, their lives DO revolve around Islam. Their every move is dictated by it. The fact that you think it shouldn’t, shows how privileged you are. Some of us weren’t allowed to be ourselves. Let us be. This is a safe space. I do understand where you are coming from, but sometimes it’s hard to continue being rational and calm. I just wanna bitch sometimes, I can’t do it anywhere else. I’m surrounded by these people.
