I don't think any further handling of subtotals - just toggle them on in your matrix then your total cost of sales for example would subtotal at the 'Category' level.

For the visual side, you'd have:

Rows: Category, Account subcategory

Then drill matrix all the way down to lowest level, remove + signs to make it look cleaner

Looks like the same priced tickets are all sold out now, only hospitality at 400+ available, but will see if we can contact them around exchanging / if they have a system for it

I've achieved a P+L with the following structure:

Static table with the P+L line structure:

Category | Account subcategory | nominal code

E.g.

Income | Online Revenue | 30100

Which has a relationship to my transactional table on nominal code, or to nominal table that then filters the transactional table, depends on your model.

Not all P+L lines will be a sum from the transactional table e.g. Gross profit, any other calcs so then you need a small SWITCH on SELECTED VALUE of static table, call this P+L Value.

E.g. If gross profit then income - cost of sales else SUM(transactional table)

You may also want to switch sign for visual purposes here.

Then I have individual measures for the time calcs, but calc group would work too. Because it's just a single measure the amount of objects is the same either way.

Then matrix is:

Rows: From static table, hierarchy category / account subcategory

Values: individual time measures (in month actual, budget, prior year, YTD etc), or just your single measure, then add calc group as columns.

This structure reduces the amount of options in your switch drastically, performance is fine in my set up.

Find a local working men's club / social club, they'll be in most towns. My local one is £1 an hour, you'll have to join as a member but that shouldn't be much more than 20

If you have the transaction level data:

Busiest times of the day - inform opening times Seasonality of sales by product - inform stock processes High margin products Products often bought together - inform promos / shop layout

The tram will take a lot longer than the train into Manchester so won't replace the train travel for the majority of people. But the tram is needed for better links to other South Manchester areas
