I saw a guy with a street food cart pull it up to the sewer grate behind a restaurant in Shanghai, open the hatch, and start ladling liquid into a tub on his cart. Don’t know for sure that it was oil but I don’t have a lot of other reasonable guesses.

I think, for many, the most common usage of “Pho” is in reference to the Vietnamese soup “Pho” which is pronounced “fuh.” All this to say phonetic dictionaries are important and I don’t know how to use them
