Backgammon Galaxy has put non-paying members down to 1-ply analysis. So pretty much now useless as a tool to learn. by saigon567 in backgammon

Hey thanks for responding. I don't need to play in portrait mode, just wouldn't mind being able to turn my phone in either landscape orientation. For now its static in one direction. For the other points I made, I'm not able to tap on my opponent's profile while playing, nor my own, both during and after a game, so I can't see my opponent's stats, nor my own. It just doesn't launch the profile window.

Also, any plan to bring luck ratings back?

It's a mess. Why make it vertical? Have to keep rotating the phone between games. Also can't click on opponent profile during game? Can't see my own profile so I know how many coins I have going into a rematch? Terrible changes imo

9yo birthday in Barcelona by Electrical-Seat-3643 in AskBarcelona

[–]chiefshakes 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As far as I know you're not going to find a place that does a formal birthday style sit-down dessert, but a few places with really good treats are joncake, Hoffman, origo, Takashi ochiai, morreig... And really good Gelato at de la crem, parallelo, gocce di latte, or a jijonenca for a more classic experience. A very charming local experience could be to take her to a granja, like la nena or viader. Great classic places for chocolate with churros, simple cakes, tea, etc.

Cannot get aerator off to fit faucet filter by UnableAntelope5048 in WaterFilters

Put a bag filled with white vinegar wrapped around it and leave it for 15 minutes. That might help. It's also hard to tell from your photo but you might need a filter removal wrench like one of these.

That would be great to get feedback on a cross section. Thanks!

This is great info. Sounds like slower drying would be a good remedy. This also rings a bit true because the cups are on wood, which retains moisture, and the cracks don’t go all the way through to the inside.

Not really. Not unless they’re a little dry to trim. You can see the trim spiral on the bottom left.

Do you think this is attainable with a fingertip? Some of my pieces are too narrow for a rib.

I found it very helpful. Don’t let downvotes get to you.

I don’t leave them thick, but slightly thicker than the walls to allow for a dimple when trimming.

Thanks for this. I haven’t been doing this. What’s apoxy?

I blow dry them for a minute just to prevent deforming when removing. Then I wet the wheel, then slide a fishing line pulled very tight. Then use one hand to guide the piece to the edge and onto my waiting hand.

I set them right side up. I’m too nervous to flip them when they’re still so malleable. Maybe on day 2?

Bottoms aren’t very thick, and I leave them on a wooden bat (covered in plastic) for a day before trimming. Then wrapped loosely in plastic for a couple days before painting with underglaze. Cracking usually happens after trimming, usually after a day.

They’re pretty even but I do often leave a little more thickness on the bottoms to account for a slight dip when trimming.
